We've been putting along doing little odds and ends stuff but I thought I'd show you some of what we've been doing!:)
In my last post you saw the front end all torn apart so that we could install the gussets that we could'nt get to with the motor in. Here is where we are now. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...entdetails.jpg I was curious as to what the car weighed since we had most of the major components in the car so we had the car scaled! http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ovaonscale.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...ightScaled.jpg Not bad! 2700 lbs! I figure with interior, Glass, full tank of gas and whatever other stuff is going in the car we should be right around 3,000 lbs.(Of course, my fat a$$ doesn't figure into that weight!:fluffy: John |
Lookin' Good! You still headed to Columbus?

Since I rented the Rental car, We are going to Rally's Burgers this year, I miss those fries. All we did was drive by it after we just had the biggest steak dinner ever. Oh and we need to go to Damons again, that place was Grub.

So we've been working on finishing off all the mechanical systems of the car so that we can get to working on the cosmetic parts of the car. One of the things I wanted to get done was the supercharger plumbing. It is TIGHT in there!
Plumbing Mockup http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...24-2008021.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...24-2008023.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...24-2008026.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...24-2008028.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...26-2008002.jpg John |
Rear Bumper sucked in
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...26-2008010.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...26-2008012.jpg Exhaust and Tub Brackets http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...26-2008013.jpg Opinions? John |

P1SC? Is that enough blower for a 427? I can't wait to hear this car. How big of a cam are you going to run?

Stock internals......... John |
Finished mounting the intercoolers. Now all that is left is to finish the plumbing and we should be done with the supercharger system.
http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...11-2008005.jpg Exhaust system is pretty much routed. Just need to finish running it out the back and finish weld all the fittings. Muffler placement http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...11-2008011.jpg http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...11-2008012.jpg We're going to wrap the pipes with heat shield as they go around the tank. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...11-2008027.jpg Rear bumper http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...11-2008018.jpg John |
John, Looking great  Roger and ironwork's crew my hats off to you guy's :hail: keep up great work Joe :)
|
Those are some pretty fancy bumper bolts you have there
J/K... Love the rear valance under the bumper. Nice and subtle. |
Lookin great John!
Any guesses what the final product will weigh? There is so much going on in a small package. I bet it's gonna be insane to drive. |
Great all around build. The headers look good
|
Looking GREAT John !!
1 Muffler - and not 2 ? Interesting. More info and other pics plz ? Just wondering if the single unit flows enough air for your supercharged application. Might be a great solution for my project since I have almost zero space in the back to run mufflers. (looking at something like the C3 setup) Keep up the awesome work Team NovaWerks !! Jim |
It is a stainless muffler design for a Power stroke or duramax engine. They go through one muffler. So I think we will have room to spare as far as CFM through the muffler. It is a DNA muffler. They sound pretty good. We had to completely rework both ends to make the merge into the muffler from 2 3" pipes to one 5.5" muffler.
I might have a better pic of the merge. Rodger |
Thanks for the info. Great idea. I like how you guys always think outside the catalog !
Jim |
nice to see progress going on!!

OH NO, You will be pulling it. Build it now, I am sure you can afford it, LOL !!!!!!!!!! Why go throught this whole build and do a stock internal LS7? They dont have a good track record stock with boost ! LOVE THE CAR BTW !!!!!!!!!! Cant wait till its done. |
Quote:
I know this sounds crazy but I've even contemplated pulling the LS7 and running a boosted LS3!(I know, I'm out of my mind!) Engine Bay Gusset http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g1...26-2008019.jpg I was thinking of leaving it like that but Rodger would like to add a solid sheetmetal piece that will clear the hinge. Wadda ya think? John |
you could probably run a pretty seriously pumped up LS3 for the cost of that LS7... but then again, maybe with all the trouble you'd have to go through to arrange/make the swap it wouldnt be worth it.
for what its worth, a cammed LS7 sounds pretty amazing. |
