Getting exciting now!! Good luck picking a color, people don't realize how tough it is until the deadline approaches.

SlowProgress 02-28-2016 10:11 PM

Honestly this is pretty exciting. I am so far away I can't even really think about paint. Being where you are must be a great feeling!

paulk68 02-29-2016 11:19 AM

I agree, watching this build is very exciting. I log in each day hoping I am going to see an update on this thread.

Thankfully I'm not up against the wall and forced to pick right now. I've been all over the color wheel at least twice, if not more. My goal has been to stay ahead of Jim and so far, it's worked out fairly well. I keep reminding myself that the car was just going to get a suspension and LS swap when I brought it home. What was I thinking? :lostmarbles:

Well that makes me feel good. I do my best and as soon as I finish this I'll have one for you.

Couldn't agree more. Cool is just Cool.

Spiffav8 02-29-2016 06:46 PM

I was a bit surprised at how this update came in. It was a treat for sure. Jim says he sees a small spot that needs attention. I've watch these at least 80 times and I THINK I see what he's talking about...then again, I may just be seeing things at this point.

The only WalMart Sieg and I will go to in Vegas is the one out by the air base and LVMS... It's very high class and clean and organized. Well stocked.

After the first visit - we started to conceal carry..... LOL

Yeah, that's good motivation isn't it. If you decide to go there regularly I recommend body armor.

I'm going to petition my HOA to ban all children from playing outside "for health and safety" reasons.

Probably can't afford the losses due to all the theft.

Vegas69 03-02-2016 09:32 PM

I had about 100 miles on mine, driving through the lake at 10 PM, and a rock pops off the back of a truck and bounces right off my hood. A big old chip in my front valance. At first I was pissed, then I was glad. You saw what happened after... ha ha

I know it will happen sooner than later. It's like washing my truck. Doesn't matter the time of year or the forecast. If I wash it, it will rain or the neighbors sprinkler will ruin it within 24 hours. So wrong.

Thanks for the link Curtis, I was both thoroughly amused and impressed.

Still not sure to do about the 4 bar but at least I saw a cool build in progress.

Joe

Let's see some color!

Spiffav8 04-08-2016 03:48 PM

Sorry for the long delay since my last post. Seems like I've been driving the crazy train the last few weeks. :lostmarbles: If I wasn't mental before, I am now.

Jim has been making steady progress on the car and we are getting closer to color. The car has been blown apart and all the nooks and crannies have been given attention. The firewall is nearly complete and the floor has been repaired. The floor wasn't bad, just a small hole, but time wise the smart call was to replace the drivers side.

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.......

Jim had to finish this up and get it delivered, so my car had to sit for a few. No big deal. I knew it would happen. It sounds like this concourse resto is all finished and will be delivered end of this week. Then we will be back on.

You picked a good one! Always thought it was interesting that the engines on that airplane didn't have any igniters and that it was basically always in afterburner. The outer skin held the fuel in and it leaked like crazy till the skin got hot and expanded. Also interesting that every time it went over Mach 2.5 it re-tempered the air frame due to the heat. Would have been a neat one to fly.
