Curious how they handled it on their end..... Did you get any grief about returning/wanting one that 'fit' better?

No grief on their end, they said they would take a look at the curvature and see what's wrong/right. And they sent me a return label for the glossy trunk.

Do you have a seal in it? It will completely change how it fits.

WOW, been some time .... I did not like the fit of the Anvil carbon fiber trunk lid so I asked to return it, no questions asked they said issued a RA and I sent it back. It was 3/8 high in the middle and low on the front corners, now to beat on the AMD lid some more :lol:

Other than that I have been busy with work ... working on classic cars is cool except some people should not be trying to do their own electric mods or rust repair. I have been working on a 69 VW bus that some ha hoo did the metal/ rust repair and warped every panel that he worked on, grrrrr.... Step away from the welder cuz you are an IDIOT!!!!! Been using my Big Kids sanding blocks to get her straight ... not that there is a straight panel on a VW bus :action-smiley-027:

So I got my inner fender well repainted last weekend and thought something was wrong, it didn't match the other one .... hmmm, I even called the paint jobber and asked about the ratios. Well, come to find out the satin black is mixed 4:1 not 3:1, so I had to respray the inner wheel well today.

Learning a lot at work, been working on a 69 Mustang fastback, 58 Impala, 88 Thunderbird, 76 Bronco, and a 55 Thunderbird. Having a blast, they pay me to work on classic cars ... I learned a lot about the Dakota Digital VHX system installed on the 58 Impala troubleshooting the fuel level sending unit ... pretty cool unit if you follow their directions, lol.

I have just begun the build of my 1967 Camaro and this thread is going to prove to be very helpful. I am doing many of the things that you did. Thanks for showing your work. With the Vintage Air system, is it necessary to weld up the big hole in the firewall where the original heater goes?

That is why we share our progress with the dos and don'ts. I welded a panel where the original heater plate was and covered it with an Al plate w AC inlets.... Finch firewall plate.

Wow, time has flown by ... here's an update that deserves sharing. Been working in a classic car restoration shop here in Littleton CO and loving my job. Do what you love but call it work is mental happiness. I have been working on all sorts of cars, learning a lot, and always looking for the next challenge ... keeps the mind active and engaged in the task at hand with a goal in mind!

Anyway, FedEx finally delivered my LS 430hp engine and I mounted the Quick Time bell housing and the T56 Magnum ... hoping it would mount into the car but NO .... seems I have the wrong trans tunnel hump from SpeedTech installed in the car. So now I have to remove the cover meant for a T56 and install the hump meant for the Extreme Subframe .... grrrr.

That's just some of the cars we get to work on everyday. The VW Bus body work was time consuming, you wouldn't guess that roof is 13' 10" long! The Eleanor was a Holley Sniper install and I got to test drive her ... wow, she'll scoot. Anyway, make the best of everyday and thanks for looking...
