I am totally awe struck by all this conversation and how out of hand it has gotten. I (Chris' wife) was the one who originally posted a comment about how Troy got special treatment and how Goodguys bended the rules. Since then this thread has turned into a builder bashing paradise.
Just to be sure, I re-read all the posts and can't find where either Chris or myself bad mouthed any person or builder, we simply stated our disappointment with how Goodguys ran the event. I have found certain people who feel that they need to call us names such as 'jackass' and 'bitch' and to this Chris has defended himself. I have also seen posts where these above mentioned people have taken it upon themselves to critisize our work (and others) in an unprofessional manner, and to this Chris has defended himself. I am confused as to why the bashing is ok, but a valid complaint about the manner in which a show was run and managed (a show that effects everyone on this board) or someone defending themselves is not. At some point, everyone on this board could or will have a car in competition and would be very disappointed if the same thing happened to them. Kinda like everyone bitching that all these celebrities get off scott free on DUI and drug charges when we all know damn well if the same were to happen to any of us, we would be locked in the slammer (just an analogy, don't get off track) Fesler always appreciates CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM or any polite and professional comments anyone might have about us. If you know us, then you know this to be true along with the fact that we are pretty up front about things and how we feel. This doesn't mean we are rude or inconsiderate like some members are accusing us of it just means we are focused on the task at hand. I can name one builder, the late Boyd Coddington, who was by no means a Chatty Cathy when it came to meeting people and fans. In fact, he was rarely seen at events just hanging out but more in a controlled environment (signing photos or picking awards) and was not what you would call "friendly". I am speaking from personal experience of course and don't need a lecture on what a good guy Boyd was. I don't usually post on these boards cuz honestly I think they are kind of silly and 9 times out of 10 they get off track. Since I am a chick, I just can't get into the opinions and all the testosterone! :) I do read them however and use them for research. Fesler has been in business for over 10 years. We are not. . .I repeat NOT interested in becoming celebrities. Up until 2008 our business has been closed to the general public and we have worked on referral only. . .all this and we are still around. The only people I care who know who we are, are the people who are asking me to build them cars. We became members of this forum so we could be closer to the members of our small but important community. I beleive we can all learn from each other and everything doesn't have to be a competition. . .but then again, I am a girl and what do I know! Sincerly, "The Chick with a Big Mouth" Carrie Fesler PS: Don't bag on me for spelling. . .I am too tired to care. |

Well..... I think this thread is well done, time to take it off the burner. I think everyone has had their say and then some. I probably should have closed this thread sooner.
On behalf of our community, I want to thank John and Ed from Good Guys for taking the time to post in this thread. Very cool. Time to move forward. |
