I'm the Manager of a Technical Support team of 8.

The basis of what our company does is sell OEM repair parts for all forms of kitchen equipment in the food service industry. We sell to all the big chains, McDonalds, Wendy's, Burger King, Culver's, Outback Steakhouse, etc. as well as mom & pop restaurants and eateries.

On my side of the business we provide electrical and mechanical technical support for several manufacturers of food service equipment. Our company has grown by leaps and bounds in the 7 years of it's existence, something like over 2500%. Five years ago I was the 18th employee hired, today we have 78 employees, and plan on doubling the size of the company in the next 2 years!!

I feel extremely fortunate to have my job and to work for a company moving forward in very difficult times in this country.

I am amazed at some of the interesting and unique jobs/careers some of you guys have, as I just read ALL 16 pages of this thread!! LOL

I started out as a Petroleum Transfer technician( gas pumper) at a young age and then tried to become a professional race car driver for quite a few years (ran out of money) and then moved up to Manger of the Petroleum distribution center ( Gas Station ) and finally on to owner of the facility. Just don't tell anyone else ! you know with the price of gas :_paranoid :_paranoid

Assistant Vice President of Finance for Brandman University. We have about 10,000 students and about 26 different locations, including a few in Washington.

No one can understand my hobby at work--I wear a suit and tie everyday, deal with audit and finance commitees, etc---it's always fun to see the reactions of these folks when they ask what I do outside of work.
