Wow, great build thread and incredible Camaro.

Hey Mark, read the article in GRM and felt bad the car didn't cooperate. Would have been great to see how it stacked up. Are you planning on taking part again next year? What did you think of that Challenger?
|
he raced it at beech bend at the lsfest. I can't remember what he ran. it should be posted on the lsfest.com website.
|
Mark just ran again today at Gingermen and I think he beat his Motorstates lap times by 3 seconds..

When I pick a tire I'll let you know when I sort out what works on my car. I picked up 3.5 seconds a lap with Rob in the car so I think the tuning I have done over the summer worked out. I'm going back to Gingerman and Walmat on Sunday to make my final choice for tires. Stielow |

Which PHR issue will those shots appear in? Any sneak peaks?:_paranoid :D ...just kidding. And which Walmart will that be?...lol |

Thanks for posting guy's, I imagine the tires Mark ends up going with will be the same ones I end up using.:)

I took my car back to Joe and Paul VanNus's last night. They looked at my car like the guys at Avis after we rented car to run at a track event for the weekend. :_paranoid
They will have the car looking great for SEMA. They did say I kept it shiny. Thanks for the help guys the car is killer. http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...l/DSC_3216.jpg But I'm taking it back to Gingerman to sort out the ABS issue. Stielow |
I'm not liking all this practice. :unibrow:

^ than get out there Todd. I'll meet you at Willow if you need it...!

Mark, What size kooks headers are you running. i noticed you made mention that the fitment was dead on with their motor mount adapters, how do you think this would translate to a stock subframe.
thanks in advance |
The standard Kook's size for an LS-conversion into a 1st gen is 1 7/8". I believe that Mark said earlier that he purchased the set unwelded so that he could assemble them the way that he wanted, likely optimizing clearances.
BTW, I have a brand new set of these which I just purchased but will be selling. I'm going a different route, haven't even opened the box yet. PM me if interested, I'll post an official for-sale ad next week. |
SEMA Prep
I dropped my car off to the VanNus's Tuesday night to get "tuned up" for SEMA. I got to their house Saturday night late. The car looked great they had fixed all the road rash and track abuse from the summer.
So undaunted we loaded it up Sunday morning and took it back to Gingerman race way for the last testing. http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...l/DSC_3220.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...l/DSC_3219.jpg The car is working great! They had us on the new longer course so the lap times aren’t comparable. We were blowing by C-6 Z06s like they were sign posts. Lots of fun. I ran the car hard and only found a couple small problems with ABS calibrations and high speed track use. After logging about 50 miles on Gingerman we had to take the car back to the VanNus's house to clean it up and fix more paint chips. Joe did not look impressed. lol I took his perfect car and trashed it again. We were lucky with a very good weather so we washed it out in the driveway. http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...l/DSC_3224.jpg http://i439.photobucket.com/albums/q...l/DSC_3222.jpg We had a small pile of rubber under the car after we scraped off the wheel wells. When I left Paul and Joe were touching up paint chips again. Sorry guys. The car leaves for SEMA today. The car looks better than it did in June. :hail: Stielow |
Mark are you going to be with the Optima cars at Sema?

HA HA! I love it. I can only imagine the people driving the C6 Z06's. Getting passed by a '69 Camaro?!!? lol So awesome!!
