I got this! By my June Mayo appointments - they'll ask me "where'd that cancer go?"

👍👍 I love the attitude!

BMR Sales 04-25-2018 08:03 AM

Attitude is Everything!

about 12 years ago, two friends of mine came down with Cancer. One was upbeat and hung in there a long time - the other was Doom & Gloom and he was gone in 5 months.

Greg's got the right state of mind and the Power of CBD!

jarhead 05-05-2018 03:36 PM

sorry to say i had never read this, i lost some close family to Cancer that was my reason to not click on it. After reading some comments here and there on other posts recently i chose to read it to see what it was about.

NOW I find it was about your personal journey, I was :EmoteClueless:

You always have a kind word and a comment or suggestion for my project. Here you are in "Life" and all I can say in return is "Greg, you got this", you dont need me to say that, but wanted you to know you are in my thoughts.

This is a very inspiring thread BTW, watched too many people in my life just "give up"
Joe

GregWeld 05-05-2018 03:52 PM

Oh Joe......

LOL

Yes --- sadly this is my personal story. Thank you for the kind words buddy!

Build-It-Break-it 05-05-2018 04:51 PM

Hey Greg I didn't thank you yet for sending me the information to help my mom fight cancer. Unfortunately she passed away January 15, this year then my sister passed February of cancer as well, then my wife grandmother two weeks ago.

Thank you again for trying to help me. Keep taking care of yourself. We're all pulling for you and others fighting.

Sorry to hear this Ahmad....

Cancer is crazy stuff.... Sadly, I think we're a long ways from understanding it.

Stuart Adams 05-06-2018 07:45 PM

Cancer sucks. On one hand treatment is a billion dollar biz, and on the research for cures its a billion dollar biz. Creates very mixed thoughts.

jeff71 05-08-2018 11:25 PM

Hate to hear you have to go through this again.

I'm curious why the Ford Dually upgrade? Keeping the GMC?

Well --- these plans were laid before this latest diagnosis..... but the Dually is the haul master choice for the 40' InTech gooseneck trailer I have designed so I could travel the USA for 2019 and run NASA TTU group races with the new car.

The car is being built - the truck is built - the trailer is on "hold" until I see my next set of scans etc.

The sweet little 6.2 liter Chevy HighCountry was sold.

SSLance 05-11-2018 11:33 AM

Greg, did you get the sweet suspension work you were talking about done on the new Dually already?

I did Lance!!

Ford drop shipped it straight to Kelderman in Iowa..... They installed the full Rear and Front air system for the F-450..... and then Apple Ford picked it up and shipped it to me -- truck had 69 miles on it when it was dropped in my driveway.

I dare say --- the 450 rides every bit as smooth and quiet as my half ton HighCountry! I'm so impressed it's unreal. Gwen has put 600 miles on the truck now.... and actually is also impressed!

Their stuff seems really inexpensive compared to the dramatic change it makes.

FaBrycation 06-01-2018 09:53 AM

Greg, I am just a few miles from Kelderman now.

Dude ---- the Kelderman suspension stuff on this F-450 is A M A Z I N G !!! Just friggin' WOW! Empty - the truck rides like my little half ton Chevy did. Just so worth the $$$$ and it IS expensive stuff! But think about every mile you drive in pleasure ---- or bouncing down the road. I'll take pleasure!

Musclerodz 06-01-2018 09:16 PM

Sucks to hear buddy. Hope to see you in TX in a couple months.

USAZR1 06-02-2018 10:26 AM

Reading this thread, from start to the last post, has been a roller coast of emotions. Greg's sheer will to live his life, his way, is the thing that stands out the most. Having survived an aggressive form of prostate cancer and major heart attack, ten years apart, I almost feel a kinship with folks like him.
Bless you, pal!

The ride has been more than a bit crazy Clint....... And yes --- I believe we all have a will to live.... but some folks just want to be told what to do.... I'm a hot rodder --- I'm going to take a bit from here and a bit from there and I'm going to mod them a bit..... and if that don't work - we'll try something different!

If all goes well, I plan to have my car at Goodguys, next September. Hopefully, I can meet you and a few other characters, from this site.
Take care of yourself, Greg.

Well I hoped you'd meant that event ---- but they do have a lot of them!!!! LOL

See you there!!! The Hall of Fame group parks together in a "special" area there so we're pretty easy to find.

USAZR1 06-05-2018 10:41 PM

Now, I'm really looking forward to September. :bitchslap:

GregWeld 06-21-2018 10:06 AM

Udate

I met with the Oncologist yesterday morning at The Mayo in Scottsdale.....

ZERO change in my "spots" --- so no growth --- and more importantly --- NO CANCER found elsewhere either..... And given the location of the cancer (lymph nodes) this is very excellent news.

Not the news I had hoped for.... Which would have been --- "the spots are gone".

So the Doc was obviously pleased ---- and more importantly extremely SURPRISED with the results. I finally asked him ---- "so what did you expect to see this visit?" He said A LOT of growth -- and in fact -- they'd wanted me to come back one month after this last diagnosis because they wanted to measure and track the growth.

The other thing I think EVERY cancer patient should ask to have done ------ GENOMIC SEQUENCING!! I had my cancer cells shipped to Foundation One for testing. They figure out exactly what you're particular cancer cell is ---- and then search for a known match for drugs to treat it -- or clinical trials being run etc.

Sadly ---- The cells I have are known to have NO CURE NO EFFECTIVE TREATMNET.... so basically --- I'm a walking dead guy now. BUT don't worry -- not soon === not suffering ---- not really sick --- hanging my shingle out ---

GONE RACIN'

AU Doc 06-21-2018 11:09 AM

That is freaking AWESOME news! Glad to hear you've kicked cancer's tail! I wish there were more stories like this - and fewer of the other,

Well..... I don't know as I'd characterize it as that exactly! The first go 'round I certainly did ---- so that's bought me 2 years so far (A VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME!!! Given the "6 months to live").

Cancer likes to mutate and is an EXTREMELY TRICKY little F ***er......

Ron Sutton 06-21-2018 02:35 PM

Love the Gone Racin' post.

See you next Wednesday !

waynieZ 06-21-2018 02:51 PM

Glad it's better than the Doctor was expecting. I was wondering how you made out but didn't want to overstep be checking with you. Fight on!!

Stuart Adams 06-21-2018 08:46 PM

Awesome Greg. Keep banging gears..

FaBrycation 06-22-2018 10:35 AM

Panteracer 06-22-2018 10:40 AM

Cancer

Greg,
Glad to hear you are still going to test the car
Many have told me once you drive a tube frame car
then you will never want to go back to anything else
I also envy the sequential you have
Have fun,be safe and keep trucking on

Like they say
Its all about RACIN everything else is just waiting

Bob

GregWeld 06-23-2018 08:26 AM

Love all you guys..... thank you all for the kind words.

These spots are "only" a 1/4" right now. The problem is not the size -- but the location. It probably couldn't get in a worse spot. But we have no control over such things.

We didn't ask to be born - we don't want to die - but we ALL will. Get over it. Just keep living. If we woke every morning and asked "is today the day?" we'd live miserable, feeble, little lives. WE (Lat Gr's) do not live miserable, feeble, little lives. WE (Lat Gr's) get up and kick ass.
