Mopar 440, 0.030 over with Ross light weight flat tops, zero deck height, 0.990 pins, Eagle rods, stock forged crank. Block has had a few oiling mods. Milodon road race pan with trap doors for oil control.
Edelbrock RPM heads with 75cc chambers (closed chamber) and a little bit of porting. Heads are on order, should have them in about three weeks.
Ultradyne solid NF62 grind. This cam has ramp rates that are designed to take advantage of the 0.904" Chrysler lifter size (it opens valves faster than engines with smaller diameter lifters are able to). This cam has a 270 advertised duration, 243 @ 0.050, but more duration @ 0.200 than most roller cams that have 243 @ 0.050. Cam only has gross valve lift of 0.548".
Mopar super stock six pack intake. Part number P3690982. Made by Weiand in the early 70's for Mopar to sell through the dealers as a "legal" super stock intake. Runner volume and length optimized for the 440. I purchased this intake off E-bay and sent it to F&B performance to convert to port EFI. Throttle bodies rated at 1900cfm.
Crank trigger wheel built into ATI SFI balancer. MSD crank trigger pick up. MSD distributor converted to send cam sync signal. MSD box to light the coil, XFI 2.0 system to tell the MSD what to do and control the pulse width on the injectors.
Pictures below are mock ups when we were fitting the hood over the engine and air cleaner. Air cleaner will be painted orange top / black base. May even put the 440 6bbl sticker on top. Heads in the pictures are my old ported iron heads.
This combo of cam / heads / intake will make a LOT of torque between 4k and 6k rpm. Put that in a 3200 pound car with 3.90 gears and a T56 six speed and it should move, right? With this cam, iron heads, an edelbrock RPM dual plane intake and a Barry Grant carb this car ran 90mph in the 1/8th mile with a 3 speed automatic and a mild convertor. With the change in heads it will pick up 50+hp on flow alone, then bump compression up 1 point, add this ram intake and EFI? It should be interesting. With aluminum heads and intake it should weigh close to small block Mopar weight.
