Nice steering wheel! Is that a new racing wheel?

Is it me or do I see the infamous Ruptured Duck in the back ground?

ironworks 08-28-2009 08:51 AM

That would be it.

Sorry if you've already explained this: What are your plans for the interior as far as the floors go? Insulation? Carpeting? Paint?

As Jesse James said "if it does not make it stop fast or Go fast it will not go on the bike". We will put some insulaition in the car, but we are also trying get the car below 3000 lbs. We have made some compromises to have a car that is still comfortable on the highway. But at the end of the day it is meant to drive the crap out of. We hope to put 10,000 plus miles on the car next year. Car shows, autocrosses, Silver State Classic, Hot Rod Power Tour, maybe Bonneville just to say we ran the car. Maybe the Road and track one lap event.

We also plan to show things that would not usually get shown in a build, I want to expose the wiring, the AC duct work, different things like that to show that hidden details. The ECU will mount on the outside of the dash. I think I have figured out how to use a Budnik Steering wheel on a quick release hub. I have not found anybody who makes a 9 bolt lecarra steering wheel Quick release hub. But I thnk we can make our own pretty easy.

So I'm trying to get some of the best of both worlds. Some trick cool parts on a car that work at the track with as many bolt on parts as possible.
