Got the drivers door latch done yesterday night.
http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...22260380_n.jpg http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...11626700_n.jpg After a lot of measuring and test fitting floor mount pedals it just wasn't worth the time and effort to get the pedals to fit right AND be comfortable in the seat. I said screw it and decided to modify the stock 4th gen camaro pedals. as it turns out it was easier to do than i thought it would be. Still have to mount the clutch master cylinder and gas pedal. brake and clutch pedal mocked up http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...32043885_n.jpg Power brake booster mounted http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...54508884_n.jpg Engine set so far back the brakes are almost next to the alternator http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...80597795_n.jpg Pedals modified to accommodate the seat moved back. http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...89740649_n.jpg Hoping to have the gas pedal mounted tomorrow. |
got the pedal mounts done.
http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...59932694_n.jpg and then built a box to mount the stock GM clutch master cylinder inside the car since i moved everything back. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...37762992_n.jpg master box mounted http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...04309310_n.jpg pedals done. modified a '57 chevy gas pedal. not sure why the clutch pedal looks funny in this picture. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...13721548_n.jpg corvette engine stands and mounts showed up so this will be the next project. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...11921995_n.jpg |

Thanks!
got the driver striker and vent filled. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...22428593_n.jpg then got the new engine cross member built. I'm very happy with the way this one came out. notice the notch for the oil drain plug. also the bolts are recessed on the bottom so they don't hit. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...03369016_n.jpg driver side http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...67900011_n.jpg passenger side http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...87816928_n.jpg got the roof stripped http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...65192753_n.jpg and the body work has been started http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...56703044_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...87841207_n.jpg cut out the factory transmission cross member notches http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...49279997_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...70905403_n.jpg used the slip roll and bead roller at my buddies shop and bent up the new fill panels. the kick out on the passenger side is for the reverse switch on the transmission. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...96150782_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...86685855_n.jpg |
Just read your intire build. Awesome job!!

It looks great, nice work! I like what you did for the front crossmember.
|
thanks guys. waynie, I'm a lot happier with this cross member than I was with the other one. the round tube just didn't look right with all the square tube in the speedtech sub frame.
got the interior epoxy sealed. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...54709779_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...47682106_n.jpg then I got a hold of a rotis to flip the car over. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...36005541_n.jpg repaired some more rust on the passenger tulip. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...18933649_n.jpg then decided to move the accusump to another location and fabbed up a new filler with a X and a recess for the A/C bulkhead. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...09256327_n.jpg using a corvette fuel filter/regulator and put it where the factory spring pockets used to be. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...86663469_n.jpg then got the bottom fully ready for epoxy. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...28663419_n.jpg and half the inner roof ready too. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...66471413_n.jpg and the start of real color on parts of the car. I used the stock valve covers and cleaned them up. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...41911030_n.jpg The bottom will be sealed tomorrow night and then depending on weather there might be some body work started on the bottom or it might have to wait until wednesday night. |
Looks real nice AJ, won't be long now!
