Hell Yeah!!!:hail:  I have had the chevelle for over 20 years and am just now getting to make it my dream car. I put it on hold to take care of myself and family first. I could have probably built it a couple of times over had I not been at the "bars" people ask why don't you go buy a 'vette or something? I say well anybody can do that. I like to be different. |
Rob -Good news, the wheels showed up today. Grabbed a pic just to double check you were ok with how it looked on the ride height you wanted.

So I gota ask, what's with that big sink drain looking thing leaning up against the back axel. Where the heck did you guys find such a big drain plug. Wow   |
Updated Pics
Time for some updated progress pictures. The chassis is powdercoated, assembled, and back under the car. The fuel tank is in place and we are now buttoning up the final items on the Torino before sending it back to Cali.

Did you have to install a new heavier duty Rotary lift in order to hoist that bad boy up there??  |

Can't wait to see it with the anchor installed. |

A few pics from the end of the day.
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...pse75ed920.jpg http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps469748d7.jpg Rob is still working out the ideas for the inner fenders and possibly down bars from the firewall to the frame. The shock towers and most of the inner fender will definitely go. We just left it in for strength during transportation. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps3349c718.jpg Pretty good shot of the frame rail to pinchweld difference. Not too bad considering it was a unibody car and we were able to get a 3.5" - 4" frame rail in place. http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps5b22de2b.jpg |
Phil cut those shock towers out! You can board it up w 2x4s for transport
Nice job Sir! |

Man Rob these guys just don't let up! So when does the SS Minnow set sail back to Cali?? :D |
On a more serious note, car looks frickin Awesome!!!
I bet you can't wait to get it home and sit in the driver seat and make rum rum noises. |
I have some great ideas for hydraulic bow and stern thrusters driven off the dry sump pump.... should help in an oversteer situation... understeer, not so much.
Nice job Phil and crew! My bet is - when this bad boy gets finished and is sitting somewhere - it draws three times the crowd Danica gets. :woot: |
Are those camEro wheels?!?! That alone is going to make it faster!

Rob I have dibs on the temp rolling stock. |
I have been inspired by all the talk about Ford racing history and the features of this build that I bought you a coming home present.
