It looks like the cab is off and heading to the Powder Coater.
The entire inside of the cab will be coated Satin Black. Once the cab is back the outside corners will be filled with lead to smooth the gap between the cab and the bed. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._07_08_015.jpg The chassis moved off to the side waiting to meet up with the body again. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._07_08_016.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._07_08_017.jpg Wait, that's the Chevrolet Gate - what happened to the other gate. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._07_08_018.jpg That's it for today. Maybe I'll post and update on the Garage project I started in January. ps - wait till you see the sweet T-shirt that Autometer sent me. |
i still say that it will make a great cooler hauler in to the shows. lol!

I that your garage? How big is that garage? It looks like the perfect size for some of my projects... Mick |

the 40 wide is ok , but you can make alot more work space if you can turn the cars 90 degrees to the wall . with the 40 the cars have to be at a angle to leave room to drive down the center . we are going to build a 2nd shop 40x50 for " clean cars " only to assemble in . |
uh oh...marty took pics of the classified camaro project... those mini truckers have no respect:D

i hate to be this way but we were forced this hand by the owner and another shop . |

Good Morning All,
Quick Update....... http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...gs/AIRlogo.jpg I met with the guy's from Air Ride at Indy Good Guy's. After Talking with Jeremy we decided that we needed to upgrade the suspension on Syborg to the new Level Pro system. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...velprologo.jpg Normally I would show you pictures of the actual parts but then we all know Kenny's not good with Pictures. So the good guy's at Air Ride sent me there catalog images just in case. Below is the new ARC4000L System. It has some pretty cool features instead of me telling you in my words I figured it would be easier to just do a cut and past from Air Rides Site. http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/levelpro.asp http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...0_features.jpg There new Pocket size remote control. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...gs/REM7500.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...s/arc4000L.jpg The new LevelPro™ leveling system is the most advanced air suspension control system available today. It is the result of several years of development by “hands on” engineers and refinement in real world vehicles. The LevelPro™ system uses a unique combination of ride height sensors AND air pressure sensors to quickly achieve your selected ride height. By comparing the position of the ride height sensor to the air pressure the vehicle is leveled with no crossloading. FEATURES • More accurate leveling of ride height sensors in addition to air pressure sensors allows extremely accurate vehicle leveling with no crossloading • Better air pressure sensors New voltage based air pressure sensors eliminate EMI interference and grounding problems that can lead to inaccurate pressure readings and ride heights. This new voltage based sensor has more resolution [accuracy] and quicker response to allow faster and more accurate air pressure presets. It’s also smaller in diameter to allow direct installation into the RidePro® and BigRed solenoid blocks to eliminate remote mounting panels with extra lines and fittings. • Easier viewing in bright light from any angle VFD [vacuum florescent display] instead of an LCD [liquid crystal display] • Ride-height-on-start Each time the vehicle is started it will automatically go to highway ride height. • Control panel programming All programming [including the ride-height-on- start feature] can be accessed from the control panel so you can hide the ECU and still have easy access to all programming functions. • 3 ‘1 touch’ ride height presets Accessible from control panel. These ride heights are programmed by a simple push and hold action similar to programming a radio station preset. No secret sequence of buttons to push! • Backlit soft touch silicone buttons Easier actuation by feel, no diverting your eyes from the road to see which button you're pushing! • Extruded aluminum ECU More robust to avoid physical damage during installation |
The Level Pro is a pretty cool system... the one annoyance is that is "pulses" while setting itself to the programmed height(s). Fortunately the guys at Air Ride came up with a new chip board to eliminate the "pulsing". Make sure you get it now... or you will have to get it later.:)
Can't wait to see the truck done. |

Good Afternoon All,
The cab is back from the Powder Coaters. Kenny said it looks really good and he's very happy. Instead of media blasting the cab to remove all of the paint they decided to cook it off. How would you like to be in that oven? http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_01_0.jpg He's got one of those Tripods and he still takes blurry pics. Travis can you please help him or do I have to buy him one of those steady shot camera's? http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_01_2.jpg Wait he must have gotten the Tripod out for this picture. Seems down south they will do anything for a great but shot. Ps - I've spared everyone's eye's and painted in a longer shirt. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_01_1.jpg Truth be told if anyone is every looking for a great shop to work with the guy's at Kenny's shop are a blast to work with. They are totally laid back and have way to much fun. www.kdhotrods.com |
I love the way the cage looks, can't wait to see some paint on this beast!!!
|
thats not my ass this time boys.......just want that to be clear
|

really i want to make a comment here. butt.......................... |
you guys are funny. since he's in the south, instead of a tripod why don't you buy him a deer stand. that will make him and you happy. ;)

No No No No He might mistake a gun for a camera and then i'll end up with holes in my truck. Not good :_paranoid |
wait wait i got lets make a Bear Stand.
|
lol. I just got off the phone with my brother in laws mother:_paranoid , she said I could get the truck for $200. V6, auto, extended cab, I think it's a 92 or so. Not sure when they went to the rounded body for the S-10s. I'd have to replace all wires and plastic under the hood because of the fire. What do ya think?

we'll do. It will have to be this weekend, though. From what I'm told it's a 4.3L if that tells you about what year it is.

Good Morning All,
As you know the cab is back from the Powder Coaters and ready to get some Primer to Protect it. What is shocking is that Kenny took these pics at 6:37am on a Saturday Morning. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_04_001.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_04_002.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_04_003.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_04_004.jpg Look Mom - No Overspray. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_04_005.jpg |
Getting close now !!! It's great to see a project all in the same color - even when it's primer. Can't wait to see it painted !

Nice. It kinda looks like the space shuttle up on its end like that. :patriot:
|
wow ! no comment on how nice the photos are ? no blurry photos , focused ,
i have a real steady hand at 6.30 am. |

I have a place near me that does it, but I don't know of anyone who's used it. |

martys cab didnt warp.........and the sheetmetal on it is way thinner than an older car. Looked nice when completed. |
i didn't know they were going to bake it off , but i did not warp the metal at all . i dont know if i would do a car with big 1/4 panels .
|
Baking of the body shouldn't cause any of the metal to warp. Warpage (if that's a word) is caused by a concentration of heat in one area. The expansion of the heated area, which is constrained by the metal around it causes a wave in the metal. If the oven heats it evenly it shouldn't cause any problems.
Unlike materials that are bonded together that expand at different rates would cause problems, but I think in the case of an all steel body you should be OK. BTW - the truck looks SWEET! I think I've seen enoughs ass for a while though! Later, Brandon |
Good Morning All,
The Cab is back on the frame, Once the cab and bed are back on they are going to start fitting the ground effects. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._08_13_001.jpg Front clip is back on to check fitment http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_19_0.jpg Bed is back on. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_19_1.jpg The guy's set the gap between the bed and the cab. It's starting to look like a truck again. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_19_2.jpg Yep this is the way it should look when you look down the side of the truck. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_08_19_3.jpg |
I hope everyone notices how straight it is because it was a lot of work.
|
That truck is going to haul a$$,great bed to cab gap, that has always been a sore spot on them, are you tired of blocking on them sides Travis
