Tube chassis, wedge sectioned, slightly chop top, 1967 Chevelle. Original plans called for a twin turbo big block with a Viper 6 speed.

That is Broc's tube chassis model A sedan with a Ford coyote engine. The plan is stack injection and to make the engine look as vintage as possible with valve covers and some other trick one off parts. Might eventually be a Hot Rod of the Year Contender.

Well yesterday was a sad day. I sold my 57 Chevrolet to a guy that just had to have it way more then me. The offer I got was better then I could refuse. So she was loaded up and headed to the great white north.

You forgot the main character.

Charlie?

As bitchin as that 57 is I'm more concerned with the 62.

I'll be able to sleep again once it's going forward, the ideas and craftsmanship being put into that build are spot on.

You and your crew build some amazing rides

Remember he is a method actor and not as well recognized as some of the Oscar winning names on that screenplay.

The 62 is in good hands. It was sold to the most interesting man in world's son. Stay thirsty my friends.

The 57 was sold to Greg's truck driving partner in crime. This guy is more excited to see the country side from the passenger window of a luxurious Freightliner then a 4 year old boy at a monster truck show. Greg's Italian friend name Pierre.

You just can't stand the speculation.....

A buddy of mine saw the '57 at Ironworks this summer and stepped up :G-Dub: and purchased the project, despite the regrets of the seller (Rodger). We (Pierre and I) picked it up on our way back from the GNRS. A build thread will be started when work on it begins. He's having a new "shed" built so it will be 6 months or so.

I just spent 1032 miles @ 62 mph - listening (numerous repetitions) about every detail of "the build".....

Listening or interpreting hand signals ? How did you get him to sit still for that picture, did Pierre fall down and you just seize the opportunity and took it?:headscratch:

I really liked that 57, but I made a decision based on smart business not emotions. Now I just need to sell a few other cars.

The man @ 74 years old - has more energy than the Eveready bunny... but he is fun, and eventually he wears down.

His '56 BelAir hardtop BBC is - to put it mildly - SPECTACULAR. The plan for the '57 is to finally build/own a hot rod he can drive. He is more than just a little excited about that aspect of hot rodding. He worked and raised a family etc all his life -- and doing a couple "road trips" with me has exposed him to a whole new way of life. He's anxious - and willing - to build a car with the Ironworks exceptional chassis - an LS motor etc that will carry him on new adventures in comfort and style.

He was sold (he sold himself!) on this build via ONE ride in another '57 with an Ironworks chassis. He couldn't believe how well the car rode with 4 X 200 pound plus guys in it... and it didn't scrape bottom going into driveways... and it sits so low (bad azz!) etc. That was it! He had to have one!

It will be fun to see this one come together... and it's a perfect project for him. The heavy lifting/building is done and it's just a matter of doing the finish work. My problem has already begun - which is to hold him to the "driver" build... because to say he's a perfectionist is an understatement.

We've been friends for awhile... So I know in advance what I'm taking on. He's fun to travel with - I like people with LIFE in them. He is full of life even though it's a bit like taking a 10 year old to Disneyland... I'm okay with that. Better than a guy that has no interest in anything.

I don't randomly choose just anyone to "partake" in the Weld lifestyle. When I say we're leaving at 4:30AM it doesn't mean 4:31... Pierre is at the lobby of the hotel at 4:15. When you ask - what do you want to eat... ANYTHING is a good answer.... because you don't just wheel these rigs into town and if you want to make some time - you may be eating while moving. He's a new convert to In N Out... But they're too messy to eat in cab so we take a few minutes and gulp 'em down in store. He's learned to pee when we're stopped for fuel or food.... not ask for a separate stop when we just left a perfectly good spot. "Never pass up a perfectly good chance to pee" is an old guys best learned lesson. T-shirts and blue jeans are considered being dressed up. You WILL get dirty during the day. A Weld road trip can begin on a moments notice - and "when will we be there or where are we going, and when will we be home" are not topics of discussion. We'll get there when we get there and we may decide to alter course or alter plans! Something may come up of interest that we didn't anticipate... Who knows! Does being "home" Tuesday at 2 really matter? NO!

On this trip - we:

Delivered a car
NHRA Museum
GNRS
Bobby Walden's shop
So Cal Speed shop
Barry Whites Speed Shop
Art Chrisman's shop
John Forces "store" = the museum and shop weren't open
A McLaren store in Newport Beach
Ironworks Speed and Kustom
Bought a car
Roy Brizios Street Rods
Dan's Custom Upholstery to see my Brother in Laws Camaro upholstery

Anyone see anything wrong with that week??

No, the dealership was just 'there' so we barged in looking like bums and had a great time. The sales guy was fantastic!

I may trade in the Audi R8 Spyder for a Ferrari California... my wife would like that, and it's her car.

EGG ZAKACKTEDLY! Ask that more than once - it'll be your last trip. Bring extra meds - extra underwear - kick back and enjoy an all expense paid trip. Wanna go see something -- just say so! If we have time we'll work it in. Don't say "gee I woulda liked to have gone to "X"" when we're three days up the road. :warning:

HAHAHAHAHA!! You're on!

BTW -- If I go to a show with Rudy (my B-I-L) he'll disappear.... Then I find him on the other side of MY car polishing my wheels.... HE is embarrassed 'cause I don't really take very good care of stuff like that. To me - bugs are a badge of honor, brake dust shows I drove it.
