For the love of god Cris it turned out great! Keep thrashing. My only problem is all my school work didnt let me make it out today to check it out. But when youre back from SEMA i'm making it a point to come out there. I need a ride in that beast!

GregWeld 10-30-2011 07:23 AM

Quick question, I really like those engine support flanges are they available for purchase? I could use a couple on my project.

Thanks,
Jon

Thanks Brian! Looking forward to watching your run your "BEAST" @ optima.

Cup holders came out of some Honda Accord.. Look good in the car!

Bring the Mustang over.. we will get a set of rings installed.. All for the price of you letting autocross her! :D

Cris, it has got to be extremely rewarding to have succeeded in building a car that has exceeded the owners, yours and everyone else who has contributed expectations.

And a real :wow: for us onlookers.

Glad to see im not the only one that lays rubber down that road. Cant wait to see the car at SEMA Cris! Sorry if I missed it, but where is it going to be?

CarlC 10-30-2011 06:46 PM

For those going to SEMA this is a must-see build. Plan on spending some time looking at it because just when you thing you've seen it all, more details pop out. It's a very nicely executed build.

Nicely done (for now) Cris.

89 RS 10-30-2011 10:26 PM

Absolutely awesome! I hope I get to see this Camaro in person someday, so many details...unreal. :hail:

Hoping to get a sneak preview of your creation today!

Gregg - I will be outside by the north hall.. all I know is I am moving the car for the HRIA banquet on Wednesday .. let me know if you need any help.. with your wiring

You and crew did an awesome job! The car looked even better sitting outside in the sunlight at the Optima Challenge today. The engine details and colors were over the top!

SOAB, I'm totally in love!

This car is everything I hoped it would be! I'm sure every time you walk around it you nitice something new! How long did it take for people to notice the wide body mods? What paint code is that? Looks close to what I used...but I think mine had more purple pearl in it?

Most excellant work Cris!!! :hail:

JCG First SEMA Experience

This was our first rodeo ride for building a car for SEMA.. What an experience it was .. We were still doing interior work on Sunday @ 3 PM loading & leaving @ 4 PM.. It was a long week but well worth it.. Got to meet allot of great people that have been following our work on Lat-G..
This car did great for us in more ways than I can imagine.. I have to thank the owner who allowed me to live vicariously thru to him to build my dream car.. “MY CREW” I could have not done it without them.. They are my biggest asset to what we can build @ JCG..

Here are some pics of where we were staged for SEMA & the HRIA banquet ..

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1681.jpg

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1669.jpg

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1671.jpg

I need to also thank Greg Weld for coming out of retirement for a week & keeping the car clean for us.. For once he could reach the roof of a car with a duster!

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1673.jpg

Leaving SEMA in the rain! Well.. It was a good thing we had functional wipers.. The owner & I left SEMA for a test drive around Vegas in the rain.. What the hell! It will be his daily driver when I ship it back to Tennessee! What a better way to proof out if she can handle a small rain storm..

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1689.jpg

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1682.jpg

Friday night after we leave SEMA.. Me and the crew are drawing straws on who is going to be the first one to be on guard duty.. We brought the car in open trailer.. It is a race car/daily driver! I did not want to be out in the cold/rain .. So I call Todd AKA Vegas69 to see if I can store my car in his garage for the night.. first words out of his mouth “ dumb ass” who brings a car to SEMA in a open trailer.. Just shrugged my shoulders & laughed! So we are off again driving to Todd’s house @ night.. in the rain! Trying to read the txt message that Todd sent me with driving directions.. As always.. I still got lost! We passed the exit about 10 miles.. All I can say is the little 68 proofed that she handle the rain..

Pic of the car when we arrived @ Todd’s.. I was not even their for 5 minutes.. OPEN the hood.. As we all know Todd is a man of very little words.. “ICE MAN”

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMG_1690.jpg

Get to Todd’s house Saturday morning to pick up the car.. to head off to Optima.. I promised Todd a ride in the car.. So.. instead I threw the keys to over to him.. I am waiting for the phone call on what it will take to convert his 69 to a LS engine! LMAO!

After Todd’s drive I am figuring out if I really want to load the car on the trailer to head out to Optima.. I think to myself what a better way to break in the engine.. So I jump in & drive from Todd’s house over to Optima.. Her first taste of snow.. We build them to drive them!

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMAG0275.jpg

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/IMAG0278.jpg

We arrive @ Optima & park it @ the Wilwood booth.. About 3 PM the owner STOLE the keys away from me .. & drove the 68 for the first time! Got back with a grin from ear to ear.. Car is scheduled for delivery for Christmas! We got a few things to adjust for the owner, get the car vinyl wrapped, dyno tune, a full day of track abuse @ Button Willow with Dave & Mary Pozzi @ the wheel.. Got a few photo shoots with some magazines.. We will be showing her @ the Delmar show this month...

Vinyl wrap the car? Say what?

70rs 11-06-2011 10:55 AM

Cris,
How well did the headlights work out at night? Are they bright enough?

Cris@JCG 11-06-2011 03:02 PM

Bob- Clear vinyl.. Want to protect the paint from chips.. We are not doing the whole car.. just below the body line & whole nose of the car..

what is the wheel/tire sizes?

tones2SS 11-07-2011 05:42 PM

Great, great car!
I'm not really one for '68's, but this car is changing my mind on that. Love the stance on that car. That tail spoiler looks great on there. I love the rear of that car, the spoiler, the tail panel matching the bumper. Very nice.

Special Thanks to Ben Hermance

Today I woulkd like to give a thank you to Ben Hermance for the rendering he did for us on this project.. It was very important asset to the build because the owner & I kept referencing it to to when the car was built.. Ben understands the theme of cars I like to build & makes it easy when I feed him with information for a new project..

Yesterday Didier of American Muscle Cars from France shot the car for their magazine.. Took the oportunity to shoot a few pics for myself.. Rupp will shoot it in a few weeks for Camaro Performers..
