seeing that side view picture you can tell there is more of a rake.
I personally like the wheel choice, half polished half cast look. It might not be enough rake for you still. You'll get a better feel when you see it in person. |
I like it aswell......
|
I'm retracting my last post, This angle looks better
|
Looks good from the side view

Change that license plate to say IMADB
I never liked the look of 20's on a 32 or too much of a stagger that results in too much rake. The smaller diameter wheels you have and the way he has it sitting now is perfect. I think you are getting hung up on seeing the frame rails. Once the headers are mounted they will help in giving the illusion that its lower than it already sits. Its like when a house or (addition) room is added. It looks way too small untill its sheet rocked. (hows that for an analogy?). I like subtle things.... and this thing is killer in detail. |

I'll see it today --- Steve seems to think it's perfect.... and was shocked at my email when I asked him if I had to get out of the car to lock up the front hubs... (he'll pad my bill another couple of grand for that comment). I agree with you that the headers on it - and get the grill and hood on - it will "sit" differently. I call the too much tire on these cars "clown shoes".... You see that all the time and I tried and tried to avoid making that mistake. We shall see. :woot: BTW --- The plate (REDEUCE) was my way of saying RE deuce... since I was re-doing it... and the RED Deuce never entered my feeble DB mind until I got the plate.... and then I was like "oh - okay - well that works too!" |
Listen closely Greg and you'll hear 'REDEUCE' say this to you...
 |
Okay -- The Friday update!
After seeing the deuce in person -- I'm MUCH happier! My reaction to the photos was that the front tires/wheels were way too big... and that there wasn't much rake in the stance.... I jumped the gun.... and when you see it in person the tire/wheel sizes are great... there's rake to the chassis.... and it's lower than it appears in the pics. Add that the grill is now on it - and the headers... Much MO BETTA! The pictures still don't do it justice. http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0816.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0812.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0814.jpg http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0818.jpg The trunk is done..... http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...d/IMG_0813.jpg |

Car looks fantastic Greg!
|
damn!!! that looks awesome i cant wait to see it with the new windshield frame on there, i really love the design he created!
headers look much better with the pipe hidden than just "wrapped" over the frame. |
Were you standing while taking those pics? I know the car was on ramps but you can't really see the look of the car from a 8 year olds point of view.
LOL!! |
I have 8 year old nephews that are taller than me.... which makes 'em twice as tall as Anthony!

I think it looks great. I'm glad you happier with it. |
It was the width of front tires for me, They look fine in the new pics that show it straight on.
|
Now that's a great looking hot rod.

While I personally love the narrower track of a dropped straight axle car -- this car was built for COMFORT... and cruising... the IFS/IRS should make this little go kart much more pleasant on those journeys. The spec sheet on the motor (dyno'd) says it makes an average of 438 ft pounds of torque... from low to 5600 rpms --- and with that kind of tq in a 5 speed with 3:90 gears -- it should be FUN FUN FUN 'til my daddy takes my keys away. |
Very, very nice.
That red paint really pops too! |
Car is looking great Greg. Very impressive!!
|
I have drove and rode in alot of roadsters and the IFS rides better thats for sure.

mdprovee: Car is looking great Greg. Very impressive!!
Thanks Mike! RECOVERY ROOM: I have drove and rode in alot of roadsters and the IFS rides better thats for sure. That's what Chuck and Steve are telling me -- that "this car should really drive sweet". I sure hope they're right! |
The exhaust tip -- minus the "medallion"..... Gives her rear end a bit more bad azz look.

We did! Fired off just fine - got the Manometer and dialed in the stacks -- dialed in the timing.... found a few other niggly issues to deal with and since it was not nice weather (not to mention no upholstery or dash in the car) we were only doing a fire up and see what needed to be done - if anything. I have the keyless pushbutton start.... and there seems to be some interference between it and the ECU.... so that "box" looks like it will be moved further away from the ECU and Chuck is going to do a little research with the manufacturer to see if they know of any "known issues". The MSD box is under the seat -- and the ECU is under the dash... as is the keyless brains.... as most of you know - there' ain't much real estate under a '32 dash and even less when you have a master cylinder and clutch MC under there! The Smeding 383 sounds nasty --- and the exhaust note is great! They'll now pull the SS headers off for polishing now that we have timing and fuel right. |

Skippers.... This ain't no $35K big whoop monster motor... it's a friggin' cheap azz Smeding crate 383.... nothing there to get all excited about. Jus' a little SBC. They built millions of 'em. Well.... that... and I was busy trying to dial in the stacks and get timing set and keep my thighs off those pesky headers! I'll take the Go Pro next trip when it actually goes out and prances around a bit. Unless I pull a Todd and forget to charge the dang little thing!:woot: |
