Yeah... SEMA 2015. Since the updates have stopped, built a 2006 Mustang track car for my dad. He'll be driving it at auto crosses next year, and I might hop behind the wheel for a few USCA events.

Matt@BOS 11-30-2014 08:37 PM

I'm back to working on the car. After going to SEMA, I've found some motivation to put in more hours on it. I finished welding in the cage, mounted a battery tray, built some stainless filler necks, and fabbed up vented mounting housings for transmission and diff coolers in the quarter openings. At some point I also made a gauge cluster, but that was a while ago. Anyway, since I have a picture of that I'll post it up. I'm currently working on the radiator, oil and power steering coolers, so the front will have to get pulled back off, but here is how it's currently sitting.

Chad, glad to see your car back on the road and out at the track. Hopefully I'll be able to join you later this year

WSSix 12-01-2014 07:41 PM

Glad you're back working on the car again, Matt. I really dig what you're doing with this car. Good luck with it!

Dieselman 12-12-2014 05:41 AM

Great work!

Matt@BOS 12-14-2014 03:45 PM

Made some new pieces last week... Possibly for a vacuum cleaner?

GregWeld 12-14-2014 03:48 PM

I just ordered that part last week --- it's called a floor sweep.

LOL

I don't care what you actually do -- you're doing it well, and learning, and having fun.

Flash68 12-14-2014 05:40 PM

I am really impressed with that Matt. Looks great!

Just don't sell one to Weld. :twak:

El Guapo

tones2SS 12-15-2014 04:42 PM

Awesome looking Matt. Keep those updates coming.
I like what you did with that intake/air filter.

DBasher 12-15-2014 07:06 PM

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with on a shroud and the core support mods. How big is that radiator, looks like it sits pretty low in the chassis. I'm fitting up a 19"x26" that I received from RON SUTTON RACE TECHNOLOGY :D it actually fits pretty well once the wings of the stock opening are cut out.

Nice work Matt, keep at it!

I don't remember the dimensions off the top of my head. I "borrowed" it from my dad's RCR GT40. If I had to guess I would say its 14"x28" or 29" supposed to be good for 600hp. I'm going to have some thick mounting brackets water jetted that will bolt down to the frame rails and onto the core support. I think I'll have the shroud attach to the side mounts so there is plenty of space between the radiator and fans.

Wow, very nice brake set up and mustang in general. You going to run the Stoptech on all 4 corners?

GregWeld 01-06-2015 07:17 AM

Oh yeah - those can overpower some 200's easy!

LOL

What if ... *gasp* I'm not always going to be running with 200 TW tires? I discovered a whole new world last year where you weren't judged for not having back up lights your car never had new, autocrosses lasted longer than 20 seconds and lap times didn't matter. But yes, I will still be using those brakes to flat spot some 200tw tires, although I might also implement a solution for that.

Really though, I lost so much braking force due to caliper flex in the Camaro that I figured I'd just buy expensive brakes once instead of twice. Also, I've been hanging around Ron too much, and was able to justify the cool factor.

Yes, the rear is going to be a Speedway 8 on 7 hat with Wilwood rotor and Stoptech caliper.

Surprised he didn't have a set or two on the "bought it and not going to use it" shelf. He's also very hard on the wallet!!

They're going to be awesome for sure.

Funny how Sutton had me change to a harder rotor and a softer pad.... and wow did that ever make a huge difference!

waynieZ 01-06-2015 01:57 PM

Some serous Whoa! there. Sweet build Matt.
