This has been one of my favorite builds to watch. Early in the thread I saw the mockup of the Moser 8.8 housing, but it looks like there's a 9 inch housing under the car now... maybe I missed it in here somewhere, do you mind sharing what drove the decision to go back to the 9 inch?
|
The 9” is just in there as a roller.

Very nice and thank you for sharing

I'm currently building the exhaust for my C10 using Flow FX mufflers, too. I had no idea they existed. I found them on Amazon randomly. Hope they sound good for both of us.

Tight Work
Love how tightly that's tucked up! LOVE the car Charlie!
|
Looks incredible and I am looking forward to hearing the exhaust.
|
It’s almost as nice as the Hobbs Camaro….
|
There's something about really nice tig welding on exhaust that resonates with me.
What's the reasoning behind the dual mufflers.........taming sound, drone? |
What is the reasoning for the mufflers right after the headers. I'm genuinely curious.
|
Curious minds want to know??
Since I've lost mine, I still want to know, |
Volume/Absorption
Pretty sure the larger resonators at the front are just to add volume and a bit of absorption to reduce (harsh/high frequencies) noise. And placing/packaging them up front allows for more volume (eg. larger resonators).
I would think that placing larger resonators near the headers, before the X-pipe and mufflers, would reduce drone and potentially offer a small performance increase by slightly improving exhaust gas flow. Some other shops place small resonators at the rear of the system (for exhaust note tuning) but my guess is that Charlie is just after a mellow and refined exhaust tone. |
Can we get more details about the round mufflers at the front and the mufflers at the rear?

These guys have perfected that OEM-plus mega detail look!!

Absolutely stunning. What a flawless build, I could stare at these photos for hours.
If you have them, could you provide more photos of the extra support bar you added for the panhard bar? Such as how it mounts to the body? As always, thanks for sharing Charlie!! |
Beautiful Charlie!

Do you guys use a pre-made wire harness like American Autowire and modify it or do you wire the car from scratch?
