I have not purchased a car yet. :topic: It appears that if you want to win OUSCI in the future you will need a borderline race car that has lights. I like events like the Motorstate challenge so JA2.0 will run in events like that. Mark |

I got just the car for you Mark!! This with about 900HP LS motor.... all in all done under 30 grand. Charley waiting in the wings for it. WTF is not to like?!?!? LOL http://i919.photobucket.com/albums/a...ersion%202.jpg |

Mark, as always, thanks for sharing. It has been fun watching the evolution of your builds. I'm always shooting to build something as streetable and reliable. |

Of course, the old rattly JA1.0 would have been neat to check out in person as well I'm sure. |

Mark,
Are you using the Bosch Motorsports ABS system? Andrew |

Lol!! Lead. |

Yes I'm using the Bosch M4 racing ABS system. Works great and has a laptop interface. It is not inexpensive but it does work very well. With the carbon ceramic brakes on Hellfire the ABS system performed flawlessly. The brake feel was as good as a Z/28 (2014). Mark |
Parts for sale.
Hey Mark, great build as always.
I've been following your builds since The Mule, they just keep getting better and better. Do you still have any of the parts that you removed from the car? I've been watching the for sale section but I haven't seen anything posted. PM me and let me know what you have left if any. Thanks. Keith Quinn. |
Awesome as always, Mark!

Garage Sale I was a fire sale. Mark really helped out the Lat G community with the take-offs from JA posting on 1/09/15. |
For sale.
Thanks for the link, looks like everything is gone.
Oh well, next time. Keith. |

They are fine without abs for street driving but on the track under hard braking the grip will really ramp up during a hard decel. At Motorstates challenge I locked them up and slid thru the grass. Same turn they started to lock up on Stielow but he was smart enough to take his foot off the pedal. For track use without abs I was going to swap in steel rotors so I wouldn't have the lockup issue.

Today's update.

Mark if you get a chance it would be nice to see a little detail on the trans cross-member. That really frees up space for the exhaust. How the tabs tie into the doublers on the inside of the floor would be nice.
Thanks Scott |
Did Charlie mention anything about the sharks at the beach to you and Gordon?? Just sayin'......

I have been working with Paul at C&R and they have helped me design the new radiator and heat. They are the new Denso high efficient cores with a new Spal 850 W fan. I learned a lot from Z/28 program and Hellfire.
C&R nested the coolers for the best performance. The new cores and thinner and the oil coolers are a lighter. The oil cooler and the power steering cooler is on the drivers side and the trans / diff cooler is on the pass side. We should have the parts next week. I love working with the C&R guys. A cool engine is a happy engine.... |
It's nice to have a company like C&R that willing to embrace innovation and not just tell you "sorry, just what's on the menu pal".

Do you have more information on this new Spal 850 W fan? Andrew |

On Hellfire I used the Corvette ZR-1 brake booster and master. There is a Bosch booster is tuned for the ZR-1 (Look it up in Service Parts). I like the brake feel of the OE booster and master. I have also failed many aftermarket booster. The Carbon Brakes will work fine without ABS. They work a lot better with ABS. I have the Bosch ABS system and I know of a Conti and Dephi system that will work also. The Bosch system is their motorsports system and is very expensive, but gives you a laptop interface and works flawlessly with the Brembo CCM brakes. The Conti race system is available but still not adjustable (One guy had it at the OUSCI this year). The Dephi system is very limited and not commercially available. Because the Bosch system is designed for racing I never had a drop out on Hellfire. Once it was working it worked. I'm so confident in the Bosch sytem that on JA2.0 I plan on running it and not installing a prop valve as a fail safe. On my other cars I set the base brakes with a prop valve then turned on the ABS. I don't feel I need to do that. Mark |

Thanks for the input on the master cylinder/booster too, I have the standard J56 booster but will be ordering the J57 piece today. You've been an enormous source of proven information and it is much appreciated!!! |

A couple updates.
Matt is knocking it out. The ECM and fuse block mounts where the battery used to be. Matt suggested we make the tow hooks / tie down out of stainless steel so when the car is shipped the paint does not get chipped off. Cool idea and part The MIL Spec connector holes are in. The front inner fenders are re-worked for the down bars. We have the wiring cart ready for this weekends wiring. Mark |
Looks good! That transmission mount is a really nice piece.
