I wouldn't hang the sensor off the rail or anywhere on the engine. The vibrations will kill even the highest quality sensors eventually. My Holley sensor lasted on the rail for about 15K miles.

This may seem excessive but WTH I am doing it anyway (10-16-21)
As you all know I have issue's and because of that I gently removed all of the screws from the Notchhead clamps so I could put a
little grease & paint in them to hopefully prevent the holes from rusting. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ed19958-me.jpg I will also be removing all of the blue tape. Yea Me !!! http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...130fbd2-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...de42dc9-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b969983-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...587ba26-me.jpg I put a very thin coat of Duplicolor paint and primer in one in all of the holes as this would be the easiest way to apply paint without getting it everywhere. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0a27828-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...3979066-me.jpg On a side note the Billet Battery Tray Wilson Muscle Car designed makes a very nice parts tray. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0f5e357-me.jpg All of the Blue Tape has finally been removed from the subframe. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...03558d2-me.jpg |
Holley Sniper Injector Harness Cleanup ( 10-16-21 )
I have one of the early Holley Injector harness that has a white tag for the injector number which is just ugly so I rolled each label and
then wrapped in clear electrical tape. These will be hidden under the Tech-Flex wrap. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...05f73e4-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...55fdbfa-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...7f8757b-me.jpg I printed new labels that I applied to each injector plug. However, they will most likely fall off but it will just make it easier to put them where they belong when I plug everything in for the last time. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6bfc5fe-me.jpg I also redid the wire wrap so the wires would be hidden from view. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...faf6a0a-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...ae0ecdf-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...064fb92-me.jpg |
Optima Mock Up Battery ( 10-21-21 )
I knew these existed and when I asked the Optima guys at Columbus Good-Guys last year of course they said they would call me
back. However, no one ever called so I took it upon myself to find an empty Optima Battery Case. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...90afe22-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5ea9557-me.jpg Now that I have one and I can prove that they actually exist. |
Trans Coolant Line DEI Heat Sleeve ( 10-21-21 )
Hopefully this will be the last time I have to move these lines.
I installed the DEI Heat Sleeve over the soft lines as they are near the Edelbrock Shorty Header. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1b4f55b-me.jpg So while I was installing the hose I felt something on my legs and low and behold my new puppy decided he wanted to take a nap on my legs. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...bddd1ba-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4587822-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...610c3e3-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...defa6d7-me.jpg |
Final Fuel Line Connection To Fuel Rail ( 10-24-21 )
Having to make the last cut on the fuel line was fun and yes I was worried about cutting it to short.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...320f530-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a0adf16-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8fe8ee9-me.jpg This was the final line which goes under the throttle body. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b984420-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...606cb83-me.jpg I also want to make sure that the line wouldn't rub on anything. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5c09217-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...005dc60-me.jpg |
The last of the wiring under the Sniper Intake ( 10-24-21 )
Making sure the last bit of wiring under the intake manifold will be safe from harm.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f6e542e-me.jpg If you look closely you can see the fitting that Holley supplied are useless. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...20f300c-me.jpg When we build in the intake tube we are going to weld tabs under the tube so we can zip tie the MAF wire harness under the tube. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...eb174c5-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8d4dc06-me.jpg I also ran the Drive By Wire harness under the manifold. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...07b7249-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...577cc33-me.jpg All of the wiring has been heat wrapped going to the starter. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2859c25-me.jpg |
2nd Chance Camaro
All the wiring on my new Gt-1 car has plastic
dip over all the final connections to keep things together and my guess prevent corrosion. Never have seen that before Every bolt is very hard to break loose on this car... very impressed whoever put it together. Like dirt bikes race cars have bolts falling off them all the time Love the way you keep your wiring all run cleanly Bob |
Nice work, Marty! This is going to be really clean under the hood.

Looks really good, Marty, you’re attention to detail is amazing! I was admiring what I suspect to be your transmission cooler lines running along the top of the subframe…I’ve gotta decide what type (hardline or flexible) and where to run the lines for my Nova project and was wondering if you used PTFE lines or something else?
