My ARP Hardware is Here !!!!! ( 01-5-22 )
I sincerely think ARP and Summit Racing are two of my favorite company's. I know I have spent a bunch with both of these company's over the years.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1376292-me.jpg One would think with as much stainless steel hardware that I have installed that I would have remembered to put a little bit of anti-seize on the bolt. Seriously all I was doing was just setting the nut on the bolt and I barely spun it on and it seize up. Ugh !!! http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...0111f4f-me.jpg If you followed this thread from the beginning you know this isn't the first time this has happened. So, I grabbed a larger rachet and a much larger box end wrench and snapped the bolt. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...c0f23e2-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...c1101bc-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2e748dd-me.jpg I might as well install the arms since I have a couple hours before I call it a night. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...432ccd5-me.jpg and no more shims http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5430724-me.jpg I made sure to take a couple pictures of the shims that I used on the calipers. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...296f305-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...316cdf6-me.jpg I took the calipers off to reduce the weight of the spindle as I was trying to do this fast and easy. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...1b83508-me.jpg Installed http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9310895-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4da66b1-me.jpg Drivers side is on and it only took about 10 minutes. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4fffd81-me.jpg For now I just stuck in two larger nuts as eventually I will be installing firewall strut braces. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...672f6e3-me.jpg When the arms were shipped the hardware kit didn't include washers which drives me nuts. So I installed washers with the new hardware. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5c81672-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a42b2f3-me.jpg Once again these are the tools that came out to perform this job. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2c5c862-me.jpg I am sure the box of Dots was from Halloween as they were a little hard but still good. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a2946f8-me.jpg |
I love DOTS,looks great as always.

Holley EFI Tank Remes Autobody ''WOW'' (01-17-22 )
I dropped the Holley Tank off at Remes Autobody to get painted gloss black as I didn't like the idea of the tank being silver/gray in the back of
the car. When I went back to pick up the tank I was expecting a nice simple black paint job. Well this is far from simple. Once again they went above and beyond and wow is all I can say. It is simple stunning and the crazy part is it matches the powder coating that the guys at Pro-Tek Powder Coating applied almost perfectly. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e9b6533-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...8e8901e-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...40c3d75-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...2e53ebe-me.jpg |
My OCD is getting the best of me. ( 01-17-22 )
I want to make the car as easy to work on as possible so, I am spending a little bit of time now that will hopefully save me time in the future.
http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...dd4f66d-me.jpg If you go way back you will see that I ran all of the wires that go into the trunk through the drivers side rear quarter. This enabled me to pull the wires out through "B" pillar vent. Which made it easy to wrap each wire loom individually and pass it over the wheel tub into the trunk. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...fd7a603-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...f7dcb9f-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5832129-me.jpg Eventually I moved over to the wires in the trunk. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...5965a80-me.jpg I used weather pack connectors on all connections. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...b70dca9-me.jpg Of course I labeled everything. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...32581d7-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...6b2f2b8-me.jpg I had hoped to finish this project but unfortunately it was late and I needed to get up early in the morning so I called it a night. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...9490d10-me.jpg side note. Yep, I actually got stuck in the trunk when I was doing this and nope I couldn't reach my phone to call my wife to help me get unstuck. Eventually, I just relaxed for a couple minutes (which felt like an eternity) and I was able to unwedge my elbow from the rear quarter. |

Since, I have had to get myself tucked back in the trunk with my arm once again reaching into the abyss. I figured that I best not do what I did the last time. This time I put my phone where I could easily reach it and I also didn't do that extra reach into and over the wheel tub. So I think I learned my lesson and next time I might even take a pillow in with me and maybe some snacks.

Thank God for Mike ( 01-19-22 )
I talked to Mike earlier in the week and once again he came to the rescue to add the helping hand. He also brought the his
assortment of 3/8's hose clamps as I needed a few to plumb the fuel tank vent. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...371dada-me.jpg Of course I picked the really cool spring clamp one. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...e4fd5b0-me.jpg Tanks ready and going in !!! http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...15c663a-me.jpg I think I said " Don't Scratch the Tank " at least twenty times before I carried it over. I hope the "Hello Kitty Towels" protect it. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...54ff601-me.jpg Tank is in and we didn't scratch it. http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...34f6643-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...a586244-me.jpg http://www.garagescene.net/_data/i/u...4e8b071-me.jpg Next up I need to find the filler neck. http://www.garagescene.net/upload/20...3-89a08a7e.jpg |
