Time for another update. Things are going pretty smooth. We have 90% of the rollcage welded in place. Most all the parts are under the hood. We have the ATS hydraulics for the clutch on th firewall and Got the Vintage Air LS7 Engine Bracket system Anodized in black installed. We have the Willwood black master cylinder mounted on the firewall. We are going to run manual brakes no booster or hydroboost. We have the Air intake plumbing set up with a K&N air filter. We have alot of the Plumbing done in front of the core support. We got the firewall support bars located and welded to eveything but the male side that welds to the chassis. We got the Drive by Wire Throtle pedal mounted up under the dash. We are going to try and get the Clayton Machine Works gas pedal pad on the elctronic gas pedal. The Drive by wire throttle body has not shown up from Gm yet.
The Vintage air bracket system went on without a single hitch. It is very solidly constructed and seems like a pretty nice piece. We will be installing the Gen 4 unit later this afternoon. We are also working to lay out the window flanges in Solidworks to laser cut the steel flange and water jet cut the lexan windows. Enjoy. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2009033.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ber2009029.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/t...ust2009231.jpg I will try and get a complete underhood picture later this afternoon. |
As usual, looking good Rodger.

I should keep my big yap shut -- but noticed the bracket holding the air cleaner is built of flat stock -- and there are all those nice ROUND bars going on in there -- like the fender to core supports -- and the firewall to frame bars...
Maybe you're going to close this area off? And nobody will see what's under there.... |
It's all business, just the way it should be. My only two observations are the pedals and cooling. I am running the manual wilwoods and you get more travel than vaccum assisted especially in a race enviroment. Your brake and gas pedal look to close based on my experience. With everything you have stacked in front of the radiator, I hope you don't have low speed cooling issues.
