beautiful work. not to mention you're hauling ass.
|
How long did it take to upgrade to the newer door latches?
|
thanks guys, its coming along pretty fast right now.
next, it only took an hour or two for both of them. its got two coats of epoxy on it now. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...84747787_n.jpg http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...04077144_n.jpg |
I would assume beyond the obvious visual improvement the doors are probably much nicer (less resistance and quieter) to close. Is that accurate?
|
They are pretty easy to close yes. I don't have any weather striping yet and the doors are empty so they sound tinnie. I think that will go away once it's all finial assembled.

We started the body work on the firewall, it need a skim coat and sanded then it's ready for primer then work will start on the bottom side of the floor.
http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...46668156_n.jpg Bent up the steam tubes. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...10066788_n.jpg Got a lot of the parts back from paint, reassembled the throttle body. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...95163294_n.jpg Modified the slot in the bottom of the factory frame rail to put my corvette frame pucks in so I don't chip the paint on a lift. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...23973002_n.jpg Tig welded a 1/4" round rod frame then welded it into the trans tunnel to stiffen the hole. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...34305965_n.jpg Fabed up a new passenger side fender mount out of 3 pieces of 16g steel. Not bad for a body hammer and a body dolly. http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...20311188_n.jpg |
Very Nice work!
|
Great idea on the frame pucks. I thought about that one too...

while it doesn't appear that there is a lot done (at least to me anyways) i have been doing a lot on the car that i am just not going to show until the car is done as some of it might make it into a production run.
machined some bulkheads for the passenger side brake line and the driver side brake, fuel and return lines. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...96461108_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...36334905_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...08833415_n.jpg then finished the fuel lines back to the fuel cooler and trunk bulk heads and the brake lines. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...86365141_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...83862425_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...41368713_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...46956114_n.jpg the rear sections of fuel lines are covered in heat tape then cloth heat shrink. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto..._7953591_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...97515672_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...66508192_n.jpg then i started mounting the diff. cooler. there will also be a trans cooler on the other side in the same place. http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...31387557_n.jpg |
