There's more than changing the lowers going on there I think. First you took a balanced car and played with it - wider tires, spacers, different alignment, different watts link (roll ceneter) settings. I also think the lowers changed the game from where you were as well. Now you're chasing a ghost - it's not there anymore.
The suspension engineers from Dick Guldstrand on have taken the stock sub and gone as far as they can. The vendors each have their version of what works best. Many won't agree w me, but I think in our segment, Corvette geo gets copied most. This gets you to a wider tire and a better camber curve aka contact patch. I'm no engineer, but I don't think that's gonna happen w the stock sub. You also have not yet experimented w a true coil over set up w your favorite shock angle/spring rate/sway bar. All this needs to be dialed in. There's alot smarter guys on here than me, I'm just just spitballin'... |
My understanding is that the Gulstrand mod allows for more camber gain in compression and also will allow for more caster. Tubular control arms give us more caster and camber but not more camber gain in compression which I'm thinking the Guldstrand mod will pick up.
I'm not clear on what moving the lower control arm would do. If I go through it in my head, raising it and moving it out will give more camber gain but what else? |

Watts changed your RHC. We have to do the calculations on where you optimum spot will be. Setting up your front end again will allow us to put the front where it needs to be. Right now I suspect your front and rear are fighting each other. We will get there, we need to work together again and get that trust back. Adding a G mod at this time will only complicate things. Baby steps guys, otherwise expect to pay more for something you may not have needed in the first place. |
You're running GW lowers right? Although a fan of their stuff, there's a guy on PT that had a huge proplem w them. He had to change uppers/lowers out to SPCs (Marcus helped him) to get his wheel centered in the well. He also changed his spinde but I don't think that was the problem. IMHO not every vendor's lowers place the spindle/BJ in the same lcoation.
To answer your question, I don't know of any lower that adds caster and most vendors don't advertise their caster/camber changes. |
