Yeah, that's a rattlesnake swimming across a reservoir he/she was a least 150yds away from land heading for ....the other side? |
Rattlesnakes are good swimmers and the Copperheads are better.......ask they guys that play golf in Georgia. :D
Here's a 4 to 5 footer that were common place on every hole at Reynolds Plantation, they're aggressive compared to the Western Rattlers IMO. http://sieg.smugmug.com/Photography/...MGP0657-XL.jpg |
Well, here are some from me. Hopefully they don't suck too much. Critiques welcome since I think I'm fairly bad at taking pictures.
Without further ado, I took these of the Pallisades Sill while in the Cimarron Canyon State Park in New Mexico yesterday. http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/r..._Hound/077.jpg http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/r...ound/074-1.jpg This is the Cimarron River. I love rivers. By the time this river reaches Kansas and just north of Liberal, it's underground. There are so many bridges over dry river beds in this part of the state. http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/r..._Hound/099.jpg Obligatory bike shot:D http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/r..._Hound/083.jpg Enjoy! |
Trey - Tweaking the exposure with editing software would help make the color pop in those shots.
Good for you getting out along the river on the bike! http://sieg.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/...9eLfE-XL-1.jpg  |
I've got a Cannon PS95 so I can do all sorts of stuff to the camera while shooting. What changes would you recommend? I can adjust my aperture and shutter speed easily. I took those on auto which I can change between 28, 35, 50, 85 and 100mm settings.
Thanks Scot Oh, I also have a collapsible monopod coming that I intend to carry with me. I shake slightly normally and think that's causing focus problems for me even with optical imagine stabilization. |
With Windows or Apple's stand picture software you can auto-adjust the image or manually adjust brightness, contrast, and color saturation. Some Photo hosting sites have editing software also. I use SmugMug for hosting and their software does a decent job. That's the easy way to look good. No matter the camera, lighting is critical, you can cheat lighting to a degree with filters and lens shades but digital software is your friend in this day and age. If I really have something I want a great photo of I will try and take it in early AM or late PM to capitalize on nature's lighting.

Thanks. I'll check out the software stuff. I have a program that came with the camera from Canon. I'll work on getting to know how to use it for this stuff

Picasa is a decent editor and its free. I use Adobe Lightroom with a touch of Photoshop here and there. For hosting I have a Zenfolio account (but it aint free!).
Some recent pics while we took the kids for a day trip to Monterey.. http://albertdphotography.zenfolio.c...02901088-4.jpg http://albertdphotography.zenfolio.c...21250122-4.jpg http://albertdphotography.zenfolio.c...28223230-4.jpg And a little panoramic... http://albertdphotography.zenfolio.c...17376680-4.jpg I also really liked this snapshot I took of my Son, at a park in Monterey (Dennis the Menace Park): http://albertdphotography.zenfolio.c...73559579-4.jpg |
