A lot of the cars have turned into showcases for the builder with no regard to the end result of how the car comes together.(Yeah I get SEMA is about selling parts)

Like a lot of the never ending shop projects on here people love to see the fabrication even if it doesn't make a cohesive car in the end. You don't have to incorporate everything you can do in one car.

Look at a Foose car and not one piece sticks out. No fancy bead rolling just a car that works although the 2 tones and chrome wheels are getting old.

Lots of nice cars even with all the overdone stuff. Although a lot of crooked rear bumpers. LOL!

Different tastes for different people and you have to appreciate craftsmanship even if it not your taste. Even the ugliest car takes more work then I am willing to do.

Thanks for all of the great pictures.

Were you able to see who built that F100 in the Vortech Supercharger booth? Utg or OTG? Something like that.

The F100 was built by High Octane Hot Rods. Here's a link to the build pics.

Does anyone have a picture of the GoPro Camaro sideways mounted transmission?

The blue Galaxy and the tri five look great! Thanks Al!

What is going on in the trunk of the Galaxy ?
(I thought it was a Fairlane actually).

It looks like a swaybar that is sitting in the trunk but then there is two of them or something. It might just be a trick of the light that I can't figure out what that is but it looks very mechanical. That whole car looks really nice though.

That Nomad wagon is nice, and the CTS-V with the twin turbo engine looks bad ass, almost wish I'd dumped my money into something like that instead of a classic !

Yeah totally agree, need a lesson in "less is more", but then again, we the fans are the ones always asking for something "new and interesting".

Looks like a pair of Torsen bars ,off set a little (Galaxy)

So it is a Galaxy? I honestly don't know.

I saw the same thing Preston and just figured it was a fancy sway bar. I also hoped someone else would chime in and say what it was. :D

Actually it would be a 66 or 67 Fairlane.

Powered by a SOHC FE with a custom intake with what looks like two halved 715 Holleys with LeMans bowls, but that's obvious.

Given some of the thoughts mine included about some of the cars being a bit over done, the Stroppe Fairlane has become one of my favorites of the show. I remember when he first started getting ink on his cars I was like "eh", but the Martini Mustang, last year's well done 2nd gen Camaro, and this Fairlane have really engendered a lot of respect in me. His builds have taste and quality, and the Fairlane and Mustang really rode their respective themes out perfectly. Both were unique with a lot of the details we all love, but the uniqueness was completely baked into the overall theme of the vehicle. I mean in this jaded era of twin turbos, and LS-everything - sure we've seen vintage style builds with a Ford SOHC before, but the dual split carbs are just the little touch that's like "whoa, I haven't seen that done before". The torsion bar suspension is a bit gratuitous, but it beats leaf springs, and a regular control arm/coil spring might not have fit the theme as well. The wheels are perfect. Maybe my favorite car of the show, although I still have a place in my heart for the totally crazy stuff like the RS 2nd gen track car.

I really like Double Down as well, but those headers need a metallic finish or even just raw heat cycled stainless look to fit the car. But that wouldn't do much for Jet-Hot the sponsor LOL !

Not forgetting Camaro XV, but I think of that as so much more going for it than just labelling it as another SEMA car.
