VERY nice. I know all about looking down the side of a truck and not liking what you see. I've had an 02 and 03 in the past year and a half and its just terrible how bad the transition from the cab to the bed looks.
|
Dang, Marty, your truck is simply incredible!! :wow: :faint: Awesome concept and meticulous execution!!

|

Good Morning,
The guy's have been hard at work on the Sema Camaro. However they are still working on the truck. Right now they are working on fitting the bed cladding. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_11_001.jpg The cladding now sits on the side of the truck perfectly without any stress. I am so happy we made everything in Fiberglass. www.syclone-typhoon.com http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_11_002.jpg The tailgate is finally fit - This was a big pain in the ars. You can also see that the Rear Cover is going to need to be widened The gap from the Factory is almost 1/2" - not good http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album..._09_11_003.jpg PS - your not going to believe me but Kenny didn't take these pictures Travis did. |
If I remember right from this summer when I met everyone - all these people work a full-time job, PLUS working nights and weekends in this shop building these cars (and trucks).
THAT is absolutely amazing work and progress !! I can only imagine the partying this crew will do at SEMA ! |

Yup thats us....workaholics. We will definatly be ready to relieve some stress in vegas and we have been known to do some partying:unibrow: :unibrow: I will get you better pics marty be calm my friend |
1st: Looks great Marty.
2nd: I too am a part-timer. I work 40hrs a week as an Architect designing houses and put 35hrs a week nights and weekends at my shop designing and building hot rods.:willy: 3rd: I need a "party break" as well ... SEMA will be fun ! |
I work about 50 hours a week Day job
When the truck was here I was at the chassis shop working about 15 hours a week - excluding the 60 minute commute each way. Now that the truck is at Kenny's i've actually had some free time to go Mountain Biking and I even did my first race in 12 years. I am still selling parts about 20 hours a week so i can pay for this habbit plus i'm working on the build book and website. |
Wow, I feel like a total slacker ..... working 'only' 12 hours days trying to help keep our airline afloat - then I go home and basically do a little of nothing.
You guys amaze me and really deserve that party time at SEMA ! Enjoy. |
Good Morning All,
It's like Christmas in September. The crew at Bowler Transmission built the new transmission for Syborg and I can't wait to see it in the truck. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...wler.thumb.gif Kenny and Travis both said it's a really nice looking piece. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_09_20_2.jpg The only problem is that Travis had to help Kenny lift trans out of his truck. Seems Kenny's been eating to many donuts and skipping the gym. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_09_20_1.jpg I'm really happy to be working with the Guy's & Gals at Bowler they are a top notch crew. I am also very happy that they wanted to be part of my project. |

Good Morning All,
I know it's shocking - I am actually doing an update before Sema. Well, it looks like more parts are flying in. We contacted the guy's at Jesel and they were kind enough to help us with the part numbers of everything we needed to get the Pontiac Heads put together. Once we had all of the part Numbers I called Scoggin Dickey Parts Center www.sdpc2000.com -- these guy's are top notch and there prices are dirt cheap. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_25_1.jpg Close up of the Rocker Arms - .450 Offset http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_25_2.jpg Offset Lifters http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_25_3.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_25_4.jpg ps -- don't ask how much this cost and please don't tell the wife. |
compared to the crank i bet it was a bargain

Good Morning All,
Guy over at Rockford Racecraft is kicking butt on my Engine. www.rockfordracecraft.com He is trying to get it together by the end of next week. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_29_0.jpg Just think that little engine is going to make some big Horsepower. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_29_2.jpg Man I hate to cover them up -- they look so nice. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_29_4.jpg The parting Shot http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_10_29_5.jpg Thanks again guy for jumping in and getting this motor put together so quickly. |
Good Afternoon All,
Okay we've done a little changes to the motor. Guy pulled the old Camshaft out and installed the new John Meaney Spec'd cam. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_01_5.jpg Guy Installed the New Cometic Head Gaskets. A Big Thanks to Mike Lee at RPM for getting them out so Quick. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_10_0.jpg Just like this picture http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_10_3.jpg Measuring up for Push Rods http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_12_1.jpg Opps - need to clean up this area a little more. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_13_2.jpg |
Okay - were not really sure why this wire is in the head.
It's been in every new Pontiac head I've ever had. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_16_3.jpg Pics of the Wire's http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_16_4.jpg Josh over at Rockford Racecraft - making up some room. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_16_7.jpg Looking good. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_16_9.jpg |
Good Afternoon All,
Back From Sema and Kenny is hard at it. The Rocker Cladding has been extensivly modified. New mouting provisions have been made to ensure a good quality fit. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_15_0.jpg You can see Kenny is going to make this truck as straight as can be. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_18_0.jpg http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_18_1.jpg The gap between the bed and cab has been fixed http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_18_2.jpg Just your token Blurry Kenny Davis Shot. http://www.syborgtwinturbo.com/album...07_11_18_3.jpg More to come next week |
Marty,
Those wires could be from the cores used in the casting process. I've seen wires like that used to hold several cores together or in place. Although that is in steel castings and they normally are made of an alloy that melts away where exposed to the liquid metal. I'm not real familiar with the aluminum casting processes. Just a guess. Looking bad a$$ by the way. Keep the pics coming. Gotta love these trucks! Later. |
man i have said it before and well JUST ONE KILLER RIDE
hey marty who is gonna do the interior if you dont have any lined up - i know it is a drive but my buddy here in kansas does the interior for Fast Eddie Hot Rods in Lamar Mo. and the tv show Trick My Truck and other killer show cars and is killer on quality and price if interested let me know |

Thank you very much.
We are going to be using Tracy Weaver from the Recover Room for the interior. He did my dad's 57 and it turned out great. I'm very happy with him and plan to use him on my next few projects. Quote:
