An automotive paint retailer can almost always put any color you need into a spray (rattle) can.... then get yourself a rattle can handle/trigger..... it makes a way more pleasant job out of it and you'll have way more control. Personally --- I'd use an etching primer first -- then the color... ask your paint store for matching products. |
Thanks guys!
Greg I already started with a color its spray bomb paint and I did use etching primer and cleared it too. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...psa6d625b3.jpg |

Mario; They started out the in the same boat if I remember. :disgusted: Hi Chad; That is a Rustoleum paint its called flat soft iron. Sorry it took so long for me to see your question. I may use it in other places with a gloss clear it really pops with metallic under clear coat. |
Looks really slick Wayne! :hail:

Great work Wayne, really good to see it moving forward.

Wayne. Is the soft iron paint what you used on the bell housing or transmission? If not on the transmission then what did you use?
|
Yes sir it is the soft iron with a matt finish clear.
|
Glad to see your moving forward Wayne, Looks really nice
|
Thanks Scott.
|
Love those colors---hard to believe it is spray bombed---it turned out fantastic. I will be headed to ACE for the same color in the future as well now---that is sweet!

Thanks Doug When the clear was wet it looked like it was a gloss and the metallic in the paint looks awesome.

KT. |
Thanks Kevin I'm trying.
|
Looking good Wayne! ;)
|
Wow Wayne, She coming along nicely. Have you pick out a body color yet?
|
Dang that looks great Wayne! You need a clear plexi trans tunnel cover for that. How cool would that be?
|
Thanks Guys !
Flash; No plexi for me my wife would be telling me to clean it every time she got in the car! :lostmarbles: Al; That seems to be the hardest choice to make. There are so many awesome colors. I'm thinking an orange of some type. I found a color I like I emailed the shop but no way to get the formula. The guy who mixed it retired. I have a quart from Jim ( SWAPMEETCRAZY ) to try .I hope I get to it soon. |
Wayne, I'm nearly postive this is the color "in the can"....even brighter with full sun.......jim

That color is Sunfire Pearlescent. We used that on the top of my old truck. It is a stunning color in the sunlight. |
Its a nice color. Right now I'm dealing with getting the trans to fit to the bell. It may need a little spacer.
Marty I'm still cross eyed from doing mine. Al's son did a lot more detail work then I did. |
Looks great Wayne, glad to see you making progress!! That orange is nice it really does pop in the sun.
|
Very nice progress Wayne..Man would A fella like to pick your brain on ideas..:D. That motor looks killer. Those Cloyes timing covers are nice too!!
