|
Thanks guys. Happy TG!
|
Well thought out Dave.
|
Very cool site---gotta get me one of those---
|
Thanks Skip and Doug. It's nice to have talented creative friends. :)

Nice website Dave, and thanks for adding me to the list...it was fun helping over the years!!
A website for my car is planned for next year (long time coming!)...along with many other things!! :willy: Makes me very happy that you are enjoying yours from behind the wheel now!! |

Soon I hope to see you enjoying the drive time as well. |

Not sure if you posted it prior but Ill have to back track and read about Dougs post mentioning the shifter in the Porsche ending up in your hand. Dave |

Yes, it was quite a day having the Camaro essentially have too many issues to dyno tune in Sacramento, and then the Porsche leaving me stranded a few hours later in Berkeley. Pics of B&M short shift kit below... I replaced with another brand. :) http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/DSCF2634.jpg http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/photo4-3.jpg |
Have you ran the camaro against the Porsche yet??:unibrow:
I have been back home driving my Porsche... and i REALLY miss the camaro. :( |

Yep, as nice as the comforts of the P-car are, it just ain't the same as driving in a forced induction 1st gen Camaro. You run your 2 head to head yet? |
You really need a chance to get used to your car and make all those small adjustments that make you more comfortable.

I hope so budro, the tweaking and tuning is a HUGE part of making these cars great. Ask me how I know.:unibrow:

http://www.nittotire.com/#index%2Etire%2Ent05 I have them on my camaro. They hook extremely good. Unbelievable actually. As far as a race between my Porsche and camaro... I havent had them in the same state yet... but im certain my camaro in low boost would smoke the hell out of my porsche. The porsche has the 24/18g set up and runs a consistent 11.0@132. The Camaro is retarded.. and i've only been running 8 lbs of boost(I would guess 140 trap). But a 60 mph hit on the camaro.. there is no boost lag(V8 helps forsure)... and it covers WAY more ground in a way faster time than the porsche. I can't wait to feel 14lbs in the camaro. I am guessing a trap close or above 160.:_paranoid |
Josh --
You better just stick to skatin' and give that Camaro to me... before you hurt yourself.  Glad to hear you're having fun with it! |

My P-car should be fairly close to your numbers with my alpha 28s and meth injection. Haven't taken to track yet. But your Camaro is an absolute beast my friend. I would love to have TT on mine, but I have to go easy on my Procharged boost for now as I am still on a stock 400 2 bolt block. :_paranoid I really want to add a Dart Little M block and crank the boost to 18psi or whatever the max is with my D1SC. Hopefully someday. :woot: Have a 1/4 day planned for the Camaro yet? 160 trap would be epic! |
I don't have a day "planned" for the track... winter is just about here and the tracks are closed now. But here in my "Michigan" world and car scene... you can't have a fast car with out running it. You'll get haggled something serious.. so i will have to run it this spring.
Real problem is... it only has a 4 point cage.. no chute... no fuel turn off...ect. So i'll probably only get one pass.... even though im good friends with the track manager... and he lets things slide... going more than 150 through the traps will be pushing it. Maybe we will rent the track this spring. And yeah.. 335 19's. How much boost are you running right now?? Greg... I have to stick to skating... how else would i pay for this crap!! You know im just a "Dirty Ghetto Kid"!! |
Come on out and we'll run em down the track together. I still need to get min out to the 1320.

Yeah right! Love ya buddy -- have fun with that Camaro... I'm dyin' to see that KB video! |

I'm only running about 10psi now, but this motor and block have seen 14psi when it hit 700rwhp when previously dyno'ed. I'd really love to crank it up to 20psi. :D |
Did Jody run a differant pulley to hit 14psi?
|

Might have to change the PC pulley to make up for the IC drop? Keep me in the loop on this...I may have the same corrections to make!

What psi are you targeting for yours? |
When are you hitting the chassis dyno?? That would be way cool to go down to Vegas and run the 1/4 with Todd.
|
Quote:
I would love to run Todd in the 1320. :D |

As you know things have kinda changed and now I can through more boost at it. They set the ProCharger up for the 'original plan' so I will have to see what pulley is going to get me where I want to be in the end. I wouldn't mind making a little more power...but I want the car drivable. Time will tell! |

Cam specs handy? Head flow #s? |
Nothing is handy right now....my feet are on the desk!
I have no worries....Jody was aiming for way more power with the TT LT1 build. Since Mike worked his magic on the block, it is now a splayed 4-bolt, we went with all forged internals, ARP fasteners, a real blower cam, and Comp valve train the only thing holding it back is the stock unported heads...they may get worked over down the road. But for now I have what I have and it has to work! |
Quote:
Well it sounds like a stout foundation, but I am a bit surprised you are not touching the heads... here is what I quick found on the stock LT-1 heads so not sure if it is 100% accurate: the LT1 cylinder head has a 54.0cc combustion chamber 1.94/1.50 valves w/170cc Intake Port volume. The LT4 has a 54.4cc combustion chamer 2.00/1.55 Valves w/195cc Intake Port volume. LT1 heads flow about 212 CFM. Man, that seems to be a serious restriction in your motor. I am still quite sure you will produce tons of power, but a simple port/polish job on that for $1000 give or take could probably be worth 80-100hp I would think. Those stock flow #s are pretty anemic. Heads are pretty easy to remove and have work done to especially when compared to the level of car you are building at this point eh? :unibrow: Just trying to make things harder for you buddy! :lateral: |
You are correct! But sadly I don't have the $1k for head work right now. My long term plan is to buy some donor heads as they can be had cheep and have them worked over...to the max! Then during the non-driving season swap them out. If I choose to do it right now the car will never get finished! :willy:

Quote:
Hey, the car will be badass and can always be made better. Nuff said. :woot: |
Quote:
Actually.. its coming back and we are selling the motor if you know any one. He wants a stock LS7 or something in it now. |
Thanks for understanding!! I'm focused on the things that can't be changed down the road. Heads aren't on that list so we will get to them later.
Enough about my car.............. ;) |
Quote:
D1SC 383 is a nice setup and you probably have a block that can take a lot more power than my 400. Quote:
Yeah, enough about your car.. this is my thread.  |
