Awesome picture.

Van B 11-14-2010 10:12 AM

I was wondering about the black plate thing. Mark, do you register them using someone's address in CA, or just register it to Charley to save time later 'cause he's gonna buy 'em eventually anyway?

clill 11-14-2010 10:51 AM

Ca doesn't care where you live. They need the money so Mark just registers it as his Michigan address.

Rick D 11-14-2010 11:18 AM

So Charley whats the 67 for???? :D :D

Cool to put the face to the car. Mark seems like a pretty laid back dude.

Vegas69 11-23-2010 07:14 PM

Mark, post up your shock settings for each event. The bar has been set!

Probaly the nest Stielow interview I'ver ever seen...

Stielow 11-24-2010 05:59 AM

I got my car back from SEMA last Friday and took it out for the last spin of the year before winter. As I was cruising along I noticed bug guts on the windshield and the trip meter we at about 50 mile more than it had at OUSCI. Charley said he could store for a couple days at his place until a shipping company could pick it up..... hummm :faint:

It has been a fun year building this car. As I was doing 4th gear roll on burnout on Woodward I had time to think about how cool this car turned out.

I have a list of things to improve for next summer so I'll start pulling the car apart this weekend.

More Power
Better wheel speed sensors
Re-balance the brakes
Better 5 -6 gears in the box

If I have time I would like to hit more of the OUSCI events next summer.

There ya go Mark!

Plan your work and work your plan...

Red Devil turned out spectacular... and will be hard to beat... and harder yet to top for a long time. :hail: :hail: :woot:

Couple of questions

I assume that you went with the 18/19 wheel combo for the abs brakes?

What spring rate front and rear did you settle on for the event? Do you bump that up when running race rubber on the big track?

I did the 18 - 19 inch rims only to fit the new Goodyear Super Car tires. The spring rates were 550 front and 275 rear. I only ran the BFG R-1 once and did not change spring rates. I need some more time on those to sort it out.

Like Charley says, they don't care. I've had CA plates on cars in other states for years. As long as the law enforcement friends are cool with it, you're good.

Have you thought about going to dual Masters with a balance bar? That gives you the ultimate in adjustment. Just requires a little bit of fire wall surgery. Of course that's if you get it back from Charlie........:faint:

I'm going to change the piston diameters on the calipers to get a better optimized brake system do work better with the ABS. I don't want to cut up the car to add a dual master. I like the brake feel of the brake booster for street and track.

Also Charley does not want this car because he said JA is better.

Ahh.....I forgot about the ABS. I suppose a dual master would be a pain to set up with that.
So stupid question, can you change the pistons in the calipers you have or are you talking different calipers with different pistons?

So now You know the secret for keeping your cars.....

Vegas69 11-24-2010 06:07 PM

I was kidding about the shock settings. I am interested in your scale results. What is your curb weight and nose percentage? I've got the 450's up front with DSE sub and aluminum big block. You have my wheels spinning with your 550's.

Mark, what mods will you do to make more power?

Brian Thomson has some ideas to get the engie up to 800 HP and still run on 93 octane. He has some other engines like mine going on his dyno soon so we have some combos to test. The first is a larger throttle body.

What are the current wheels on this car? I thought it had Fikse's on it originally but seems they have been changed at some point?

olds87 11-26-2010 10:40 AM

They are Forgeline GA3 wheels

If I tried to do another car for next year I think it would kill me....:faint:

Paul we looked at the wheels in your driveway and I go back and forth on which ones I like better. Just to keep things fun I should have yet another new set for Autoramma. :unibrow:

I would like to go on record that I love LS engines. I just pulled the trans out of my car today and the bottom of the car is bone dry. Just a little road grim but no oil except for a small amount from the blown P/S rack. The car has never leaked since day one. I think the trick is I now pressure check every hose and tank before I install it on the car.

Looking over the car everything looks great. I few loose bolts but nothing big for as much track time as this car saw this year.

Mark

Sales@Dutchboys 11-27-2010 07:58 AM

well...not a whole new car just a new engine!:D Yea Im still a fikse lover...not biased or anything thing lol. Are they the ones you showed us from the guy from detroit was it? looking forward to seeing them!

I look forward to going for another ride next year!

Paul

I have my rear axle apart and I think I have a solution for my ABS fault issues. Once I get the parts made I'll share my design.

Steve68 12-04-2010 04:50 AM

Wow, thats a big difference in pics, and most likely the condition of tires!!!

Mark, thats great on sharing, really interested in the whole ABS set up, Steve
