I really appreciate you taking the time to go through my thread. Most the time it seems like just a sound board to journal/log my thoughts and progress on.

Today was a big day as it's the first day the car has legitimately seen the street. And it was AWESOME!!!

Got about 20-30mi in. Got to see some throttle in 2-3 instead of a little in first. It's fast. Damn fast. Faster than anything I've had. And by a significant margin. Haze 345 drag radials at 50-60mph fast rolling into throttle.

I can't wait to get it tuned and turned up!!!

light tint the bottom lights to match your headlights, Match the trunk area between the spoiler and the tail panel and then you are set. nice work

67goatman455 12-10-2016 10:21 PM

Mikael A 12-11-2016 05:49 AM

I hadn't thought about tinting those lights. That's a good idea.

Not sure I'll match under the spoiler. Worried it may look a little weird since you'll still have body color under it on the sides.

It was very awesome. I'll dig up some 240 photos. Quick info is big turbo 5.3 and a built auto. It's gone 10.5@137 so far!!! Lot more left in it.

You will definitely know when I know. My guess is it's around 650 as it sits untuned on 9 psi. Tune and more boost and shooting for 1000 on pump gas.

Awesome Will! Happy for you man, it has been a long road! Will have to do some cruising sometime in the near future

waynieZ 12-11-2016 06:07 PM

Congratulations Will, glad to hear you got it out.

Che70velle 12-11-2016 07:02 PM

Good for you Will! Very rewarding to finally drive the long projects down the street. I was able to find time away from work last week to pick my son up from school in my Chevelle, and it was extremely cool.
Your power numbers are no joke! Beautiful car my friend!

Agreed. Very rewarding and about time. Finally getting to enjoy it some for all the expense paid and time invested.

Do you know what product your window guy uses to trim the rear window like yours? Or do you mind sharing his contact info for those of us not local?

Zoomin 12-20-2016 07:55 PM

Man, it's just st such a shame to cover up that engine compartment with sheet metal. It's crazy that a car that looks like that could be considered a sleeper!

I got a photo of it knowing people would ask. It took some skill but this is the rubber.

I agree but have already scared a few newer sports cars. Some rolled up. Then after hearing turbo and seeing the car roll smoke off the tires at 50+mph they thought otherwise about it. Can't wait to turn it up.

Been watching your build for awhile congrats getin'er on the road!!

Question: you mentioned that you HAD to use the GM trim on the front glass, is that because the a-pillars were not extended into the fender line prior to paint? Or something else? That molding does looks nice and clean on the back!

Michael

Correct. It's just to fill that gap. Otherwise could run without the original trim at the bottom.

will69camaro 12-29-2016 10:10 AM

Yea I'm trying to keep this thread updated but Instagram makes it tough since it's so easy to make a single picture post several times. And easy to do on the fly.
