We had to move the sway bar and radiator up a little to make room for the blower elbow but it all fits snug as a bug in a rug! :D

Very nice! This is an amazing build! You could go through the whole thread about 4 times and still not see everything! Great job!

ironworks 03-26-2009 11:08 AM

Well it will be in Pleasanton this weekend in the CHASSISWORKS booth if you would like to inspect further. Then it will be in Del Mar the following weekend as we are having our own booth down there.

Look forward to meeting more lat-g folks, Did you sell you C10 project? that truck was cool.

I wasn't able to sell it yet. Its one of things, out of sight out of mind, its been sitting at a friends house in socal for almost a year now while I have his truck doing work to it.

I would love to come to pleasanton but a stupid lady ran a red light the other night and whiped out the front end of my car so now I have to fix that this weekend. I'll have a friend take pictures of it! Great build, I love it! My first car was a '67 Chevy II that I still have.

James OLC 03-27-2009 11:00 AM

Pictures don't do John's car justice - you really do need to see them in person to appreciate the work that went into it. I was fortunate to have been able to see the gauge pod come together while I was down there. Excellent work - Rodger has a great crew working in the shop and their craftsmanship shows.

larknut 03-28-2009 11:36 PM

The car is amazing. It was great to see it in person at the Goodguys show.

Here is a quick walk around of John's car at the Del mar GG show

Datsbad 04-17-2009 09:49 AM

It looks great ....So close to being done...but so far .
Looks like another 1000 hrs to finish...LOL

LOVE the car BUD!!!!!

ironworks 04-17-2009 01:23 PM

Thanks Guys, the video is pretty cool, for even a guy like me that sees this beast everyday. The 66 is coming along nicely, There is still a long way to go, but a project of this magnitude can seem like a never ending deal if you keep up the level that has been maintained so far..... SOMEDAY...

Those are John's 'fuse boxes/wiring system' boxes by Isis....... Really fancy stuff! John will explain.

--Eric

ironworks 04-20-2009 10:18 AM

It is for the ISIS power system. It is pretty high tech stuff. It is basically the controller for the main body harness for the car.

Just search for ISIS power system. It does some really cool things.

Just unbolt the fuel cap bolts and the 4 perimeter bolts and she comes right out. It sure gives it that different look. We have few more ideas coming along with it but you guys probably get the point.

Actually we're going to wrap the gas tank with a cooling blanket for a colder charge into the engine.....

We figured while it was cold back there we could fit some Coors beers with the "blue mountain" indicators in the holes and keep them cool at the same time when we're on the power tour....

Not really....

John,

Looking great. It's come a long way. I think Rodger paid for the dimpling dies on your car alone. See you in Columbus.

Later,

ironworks 06-03-2009 11:09 AM

It was pretty easy, We waterjet the panel, or I would have used up like 10 hole saws. Then Brycen and I dimple died the whole panel in like 45 minutes on an air over hydraulic press. Nothing too difficult.

GMracer 06-03-2009 11:25 AM

This has got to be one of my favorite projects on here, looks sick man!

FYI, Johns Nova will be in Columbus this summer in the OPTIMA BATTERIES booth. FYI
