More progress. Yesterday I received my new 12 bolt from Moser so I called up my good friend from high school who builds race cars and tried to line him for installing the G-Link suspension next weekend. He had a better idea..."how about tomorrow" (meaning today). Since he's the expert in setting up front and rear suspensions, I decided to hire him to do it (with my help, of course). So, he came over about 10 am this morning, and we finished the G-Link installation about 6 pm. He got the brackets welded in to the frame rails and the upper and lower brackets welded on the rear end.

We did run into one problem. Moser drilled a 1/4" NPT vent connection at the top of the driver side axle tube near the center section. The problem was that the G-Link upper links fit right over the top, so we had to weld it up, and I'll have to drill and tap a new connection before I paint it.

While he was welding the brackets to the frame rails, I started bodyworking the front subframe. I decided to use All Metal filler on the welded seams to smooth them. I got the filler applied top side of the frame, but didn't get around to sanding it yet. Maybe I'll get to sanding it tomorrow after church.

Here's a few pictures of the new rear end with the brackets welded on.

Specs on the Moser 12 bolt:
33 spline axles
Detroit TruTrac Limited Slip
Big Ford Ends
3.73 gears
1350 yoke
Performance cover
54" flange to flange

Great progress Chris. Nice to have a friend that can help with that sort of stuff.

It's been said, nice rear end Chris! Looks like your buddy did a great job. We are selling quite a few of these G Links and 12 bolt combos. Soon I will have a weld jig to locate the brackets and will also be jig welding 12 bolt very soon so you do not have to go through the set up time you did with this one.

Everything is looking killer. Thanks for all your support

He does really good work and is extremely talented. He's also built some pretty impressive drag cars over the past years. He's one of those guys you envy because of their gifted talent. I really want him to build me one of his subframes. Maybe later.

Thanks Frank. I was quite impressed with how fast the install went...9 hours from start to finish.

Ride height is still the big question for me as it has been for a while now. Based on the recommended shock length from Chassisworks of 13"-14" and where I want the tires to sit, there may be a problem. We'll see.
