Wow! That's pretty bad. Where did you get them?

Che70velle 07-22-2014 08:49 PM

Rick, that fender must be made by the same manufacturer that made mine. I bought a new front clip basically, and my right side fender looked a lot like that one. I am NOT a body man, and it just about drove me crazy trying to figure out how to MAKE the stupid thing work. There should be a law against taking new Sheetmetal, and cutting it and welding it, and using body filler. Junk isn't cheap, either!

Vince@Meanstreets 07-22-2014 10:30 PM

please tell me those are not AMD's.

Call me crazy but thats why I try to fix my old crap.

Are you doing full quarters Rick?

Yeah I hear you, the thing is I am a body man, well I've been in the collision industry for 25 plus year any way. Not my day job but still!! I had my own resto place and have done ALOT of restos so you think I would be used to getting this crappppp!!!

Nope Goodmark made Legon. It was only $100 my org was smash real bad in the front, so now I'm just going to cut them both up and use the back of my org fender and the front of this patch panel.

I haven't decided yet on the otr, I only need one on the driver side my passenger is is perfect. Only need the rear lower section, but my window channel is junk as well (which is why the lower rusted out from all the water running down there). It's $320 my cost for a Goodmark (Legon) so I really don't want to spend the money on a full one so I'm not sure yet:headspin:!! Most likely I will replace the full qtr!! :weld:

Same Issue with those aftermarket fenders I got for my second gen! They look identical to those problem areas. Have you put the hood on? It is not even close to matching the crown on a original hood. I am surprised AMD hasn't done any front fenders for the second gens. The 1st fenders don't fit to bad.

Rick I think I have both of my old fenders that you can have to use as patch panels of you want.

Rick D 07-24-2014 07:27 PM

Ok so tonight I though bull this fender can't be that bad?? 😜

So after I changed out the bent rad support for a new one and about 5 mins of messing with the fender it's MUCH better and I will be able to use after all!! :headspin: :relax:
