Epic. The best part of being in this business, is to see a car of this caliber come together.

The engine screams for a custom intake, but I'm sure you knew that.

Tyler

Thanks my friend.

The intake has been narrowed down to two options ;) I just need to sort out the details...

Thanks guys! After two years it's cool to be at the point where it is coming back together.

Duece - The One Lap of America is not about balls out race cars in street trim or ultra light customs with licence plates. There are far too many race venues and way too many miles of highway driving packed into one week for that. Besides, at this point in my life I wanted a real car that I could enjoy on my own terms.

dont get me wrong.. i think the car is absolutely perfect! and just the right combination of uncompromising race solutions and streetable cruicer... i wouldnt change a thing! i just wondered out loud if it was perfect for one lap....

Looking good James,
What sizes are your tires, I was trying to search for the sizes on Penny but couldn't find them?

Thanks Kevin.

The fronts are 255/35-18s on 18 x 8.5" rims
The rears are 315/30-18s on 18 x 11.0" rims

I am really digging your car and cannot wait to see

the final product. I check this thread daily

James,

Car looks really good. All business but with a lot of style to it.

I'm assuming you went with the AP Racing C5 brake kit. How are you mounting them in the rear and what are you doing for the parking brake?

Every spring, Heighton Restoration in Beiseker, AB has an open house and car show. Since we were mocking up the sheetmetal to make sure the fit was correct before welding the subframe in Chris thought it would be cool make the car half way presentable for the show. I think the results are killer:

The stance is really close but I think that the actual ride height will be an inch higher front and back when we are done.

The lower valance and Marquez running lights came out pretty well. The chin spoiler is a Carbon Fiber piece that probably will be replaced soon but definetely shows completes the front end well. We're not quite done on the header panel and a few other bits and pieces but wanted to get all the sheetmetal together one last time before paint.

I am really happy with the HRE wheels (ok, heck, I'm happy with how the whole thing is coming together).

The backspacing on the rears is (IMO) just about perfect.

It's cool to see the entire engine compartment come together. The down bars still have to be painted and are in to confirm hose routing and clearances in the mean time.

I'm still not quite done on the plumbing for the remote reservoirs. There winds up benig alot going on in that corner and I hope to be able to clean up the -4an lines to the reservoirs a bit before I'm done there.
