Thanks! The timing chain cover is great, you can adjust the cam roller button through the cover to limit cam walk. Really thick too.
|
Hi Wayne, just checking in buddy.
|
Yeah me too.....should be a skinny man by now!!....lol....jim
|
I will say skinnier, but not skinny. Yet! Been trying to do some walking and exercise but the weather is not co operating. Tomorrow I'll post the only progress picture I have, its of me!
Thanks for checking in. |
Glad to hear all is well Wayne!
Are you going to start back up on the Camaro soon? |
'Round and 'round
Damn, Wayne, I had hoped you would be coming around faster, but progress is progress, both for you and the car!
This is really a small world. I was on GJ when I saw a reply you had made, so I come here to see what's going on and to catch up. Someone mentioned an orange paint color they had seen on the 47 up truck message board and it's a thread from Mark on his C10 build, First thing I see is his garage and I immediately recognize it from GJ , IGO2XS! |
He sold this car!:underchair:

Feeling pretty good but had to shift the focus to the house and yard. Being retired give you plenty of time but the "over time money train" stopped at the last station and left me behind ! Last winter it was so cold in the garage I couldn't keep it warm with my 60,000 btu bullet heater because no insulation or ceiling. With ridge roof vent it was like the door was open. so I'm trying to get wiring and lights finished so I can have spray foam insulation done. I found a guy who does it for a living and gave me a good price. Plus need to finish side walks and around the garage. I'm sick of chasing weeds.. The car is sitting waiting for me to get back at it. I'm making some fuel lines to get from the back of the tank to the front where the filters and pump are located. I was afraid to check my build thread because of feeling like such a slacker. I'll try to post some small up dates when I get some. Ric Thanks for checking in over here. I hope to have some updates soon. |

I'll be trying to get to Sam's club some time this month.
Any of you guys in the Ma, RI area every Sunday (weather permitting) they have a get together at Sam's Club in Seekonk Ma. where RT 114 and Rt 6 meet Exit 1 from I-195. It gets going around 3pm and is usually packed by 5. They have a raffle and music, nice to get together and shoot the breeze and some nice cars. |
Hey there Wayne show us a picture of the tubing. Lol
Good things happen when you take your time. |
Hi guys Haven't had much to post ( actually nothing ) but I did pick up some part for the car lately. First is the parts from Kore 3 to finish putting the parking brakes on my 9". Then I picked up the rest of the Vintage Air A/C for the car and lastly, I got a Ricks Vapor Works tank for it.
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps7c49d226.jpg Now I'm hoping to get a really big item if it all works out. Keep your fingers crossed for me. |

Nice tank! Yeah, I need to get myself a Rick's as well. Saw them up close at a show here. Seem very well built.
|
Wayne, you must be getting pretty close to an update!
|
Chief here you go!
Well I did make a decision to change directions on the car a little bit. I think it will help me get it running by spring. About a month ago I got a nice deal on a Ricks VaporWorks tank and a couple of months ago I picked up the rest of the Vintage air system for the car. Then for the past month I was getting prices on some major parts for the car. They were still a little out of reach at the time.( Which was the cheapest I could find. Thanks Dale ) Then I ordered some small parts and mentioned I was looking for this piece for the car and the dealer I was buying from gave me a killer deal that I couldn't refuse. So Monday I sent a payment for my new power plant for the Camaro. Its a GM LSA4L85 connect and cruise crate drive train. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps11058d24.jpg It come with the engine, trans, and controllers for both with converter and install kit for it. I sill need a front accessory drive. When I ordered the kit I also had them get me a ZL1 lid and a started for it. I'm in contact with C&R Racing They are making me a heat exchanger with one inch hose ends for the Stewart cooling pump I picked up online. I'll be selling off the 454 and 6 speed kit and the Fast XFI 2.0 once my head stops spinning after this week of excitement. I borrowed a car from a friend of mine with a stick and it was hell for me to drive with the nerve damage in my left leg, it was no fun and was tuff for me to control feathering the clutch. A slick 6 spd won't do me any good if its not fun to drive. So that's where we are now. The dealer called and said GM has already released some of my parts to him, but he's waiting on all of them to ship so he can put them all in the crate to save any shipping on the extras I'm buying. He won't be in next week so I don't expect any updates from him until after Christmas oh yes my wife bought my Christmas present for me, a set of American Racing Headers for the swap 1-7/8 x3" stainless long tubes. It should go good with the 3" Magnaflow exhaust that's about 8 years old waiting to be put in. |
Very nice, that does take a lot of the guess work outa getting everything to talk to each other and the correct PCM, etc.
Lookin for updates real soon! |
:ups:
Wow Wayne that looks like quite a nice addition to the car. So thoughtful of your lovely bride to get you a little something for the car... :G-Dub: :flag2: |
Yea I think I'll keep her, besides after 39-11/12 years she'll get half the car !! lol.
|
Congrats Waynie, looks like a big Christmas form you. That's a great engine package for sure.
|
Glad I could at least help with the decision ;).
|
Thanks again JJ and thanks everyone. Know anyone looking for some nice Christmas gifts for themselves ?? EFI- Motor- Trans.....
|
Sweet Wayne, nothing like hearing that power plant start up for the first time! Right around the corner.
|
Very cool Wayne. LSA will be right at home.
|
That's an awesome update. I'm glad you drove a manual before getting your car complete and back together only to find it a problem to drive. That would have been a bummer. You're going to love the LSA.
|
Great milestone and acquisition Wayne. It definitely ought to help the Project live up to it's name and make for an enjoyable experience without having to pump the clutch.
Merry Christmas! :flag2: |
That will make for a VERY Merry Christmas! Congrats!!
|
Holly Crapolly! Nice move dude! From kindergarten to high school BAM!! LOL
