Been a few years a reintroduction of my project phase II

My project stalled for a while. Economy got shaky so I sat tight and actually bought a bigger house when the bottom fell out of the market. At the same time my car was running and fairly capable so I wasn't in a huge hurry.

I started collecting some parts in 2010. A set of 427 Tunnelport heads and matching Dominator flanged intake,a 1050 2 circuit Dominator, a Pond aluminum sideoiler block, quicktime bellhousing, twin disc clutch and a TKO600.

Then in 2011 I got serious and sent my heads to Blair Patrick in Tn for some port work. I sent along my block and intake.

A billet crower 4.375 crank and crower rods push it to 505ci. The flow #s for the heads look really good especially the low lift numbers. The exhaust side is he weak point but they are still looking pretty fair. We should be taking the motor to the dyno next month. The last two big inch med riser set up Blair did were 800hp. My avg intake flow is better but my exhaust is down. I'm hoping for low 700s but the goal was a broad powerband with lots of torque not peak hp.

Jay Brown a multiple Drag Week winner and self admitted FE nut and dam good engine builder in his own right posted Blairs last dyno sessions on his site.

2012 rolls around and I start searching around for a shop to help me bring the suspension up to snuff for all this power. I dragged my car off to meet some guys in AZ.

I have some other parts I've collected. Some Willwood 14" rear 4 piston brakes, an ISIS harness, a Ron davis radiator. Once the chassis is build and I get the car back home I need to make some more final decisions. Wheel and tire sizes I'm close. 19 front and 20 rear. The rear is bugging me because 28" to 28.5" is the height I want. I'd like to do a 335 or 345 but selection in that width width with the height I want is limited. The front should be easy. 26.5"-27" tall and as wide as will fit with the new chassis.

Wheel choice is the other hard one. I like the NewGen Lites and the Forgline Harbinger47s. I also like the idea of doing a billet dog dish or even the GT40 indy style wheel. Something that stays with the late 60s early 70s race vibe. The car will retain all the stock style trim. I want to paint it the original all business color of Jade Black in the stripped Cobra trim style. Like this. No matter what the wheels will be black or dark argent.

Once the chassis is done I'll start a build thread.

Look forward to the progress on your car. Mine was that color originally and that is one of my few choices when it gets re painted. That fastback looks sweet in that color.

Wheel choice is tough, I lost a lot of sleep when choosing mine. I'm sure whatever you choose will look killer!

Good luck on the next phase in your build.

Hey look I got moved to project updates. Holy crap.

Thanks Jason. I'm partial to the color. If my car looked as clean as yours I'd have a hard time justifying paint. I remember when you were choosing your wheels. I think I may have weighed in on your thread. Wheel can really make or break a car, and the bank$$$$$$.

I'm thinking Intros.........

seemed right to me. A lot of the intro threads turn into project builds so they get moved. More traffic here.

I can move it back if you like. Great car.

Yes there are some wild Torino builds out there. I looked at this one today at the roadster show.

The plan is for them to do a full chassis for me. I was running an RRS strut setup and stambar sway bar up front and leafs with a FaysII watts link and caltracks out back. I needed to tie the subframe together and wanted to improve the ride out back and replace teh crappy stock power steering setup. Looked at doing a few things and decided on a full chassis. They just got it to the shop last week so we'll see what they come up with.

Yes the Bronco I built for my wife. That also stalled my Torino. I still have some stuff to do on that. She loves it though.

RS doing the heavy lifting

Phil and the guys at the RS started on the chassis of my Torino this week. I better start planning a road trip to pick it up. That day will be here soon when I'm back to wrenching on it.
