It was a steal, but unfortunately it wasn't a Cuda, Challenger, Shelby, Camaro, etc and the colors limited it quite a bit. I personally think it is an extremely well engineered vehicle. If it was more of a mainstream paint job and a different body style, I bet it would have brought at least 3x what he got with that amount of work. Bummer. The new owner sure looks happy though.

Well, in a auction it would be more precise to say "it's only worth 300k if TWO people are willing to pay that much" lol

The color might have had a little to do with it. I agree the new interior is very nice and the bones of the car are kick ass...but I would want to repaint it I think...but for this kinda money, that's certainly an option!!

Happy for the buyer and I hope Bill gets him to the events this year!!

Yancy was thinking the same thing..

We told him the drive the hell out of if for a couple years then repaint the car. maybe in a simple white/orange two tone deal without the tribal graphics.

That way he wouldn't have to repaint the underside or engine bay.

Everybody walks into my shop and goes are you going to build that one for bj and my reply is hell no, how could you risk all that money I guess if you have to much what the hell its kinda like gambling. Theres alot of other auctions out there everybody just wants to be on tv.

Did he really invest 300k in this car? Where did it go?

Have you every had a car this expensive built?

It goes everywhere.. fast.. mostly into labor, but there are some expensive parts on that car. I could easily rattle off $100k worth of parts on that car.

Also, he had $250k (ish) into it the first build and then spent more recently redoing the engine and interior...

when It's all said and done if you want to build a 200k plus car thats great but if you think your going to get your money back thats another thing look at last years bj when the johnsons cuda went for 500k I heard there was over a million in that car and they built it themselves, did you see that silver and green cuda it ran on fri or sat dont remember I seen that car on ebay they were trying to get over 250k it sold for 100k that was a steal and they lost there ass, what I guess Im trying to say is if your a builder and somebody wants a big dollar car you build it but if your a builder and are going to try to sell it I would think you keep them under 100K unless you have very good luck or if your having one built dont take it to a no reserve auction when you decide to sell it.
