Thanks Tom. I guess I'll give Marcus a call tomorrow.
Btw, got any more updated pics of your project? |
Your car looks pretty dang mean in the new
rendering. Can't go wrong with black...the red looked nice as well.
14 years ago when I was restoring my car for the first time and I was newly married, I wanted to paint my car yellow. My new wife said red, red it was. I did that trying to get her involved. She never has liked the car, so when I did it again it was done in yellow. You're the man taking a freshly painted car and changing the color! |
Pesonally... after dinking with shims for years I'm really looking forward to the SPC arms so that's what I would change to. :)
Even if the frame is powdercoated I'd mask off all the unaffected areas, do the minor clearancing on the gusset, and then mask & repaint only the affected area. It's such a small area it's unlikely anyone will notice the spot-painting especially if it's a somewhat close match. |
Goodwin,
I don't have any current worth posting but maybe soon. I forgot to ask what size rear tire do you have? Looks like Nitto drag radial 305?? Quote:

Payton, yup just doing what I really want. It's only time and money. LOL. Too bad I'm a little short on both. It'll take another year but it'll be worth the wait.
Blown, I guess I'll try to see if I can get some paint to match up and get the SPC arms. Tom, you're right on the rear tires. here's a pic of them mocked on the car. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...h_IMG_0340.jpg |
Started on the re-make.
Here are a couple pics of the red being stripped off. Used razor blades to take most of the red off and then sanded down to the primer for now. I'll strip it all down and epoxy primer it til the painter can take it in. Wish we had someone that did media blasting in Hawaii. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...S/th_SS221.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...S/th_SS220.jpg |
WOW, not sure I could hae done that!! Gotta give you a  for doing what you really want though!! Going to be a sweet ride!

What size tires and wheels are those?
|
The fronts were 18 x 8 w/ 245/45's and the rears 18 x 9.5 w/ 305/45's.
The tires are being re-used w/ new wheels. The fronts are the same size with the rears going to 10". |
