I know this thread is a few years old, but what is the status of the IRS builds? Are the brackets for sale now?

It's going to be interesting to see how the cars turn out. There are a lot of little things that have to be done to the floor and wheel houses to make the whole package work to it's fullest benefits. I remember seeing Waynes setup and couldn't get myself to like how it was done. I had already had mine in so it didn't matter to me. I put the torque arm in and most of you won't do that so you will save some floor fabrication but you will have to make some room and modify the back seat wire frame if you plan on having one.
The exhaust is something that you will find is better going under the rear for a bunch of reasons. the biggest is how easy it can be to remove the whole exhaust in one piece which can really be handy when you go to remove your trans. I wish you guy's a lot of patience and understanding cause you will find that it is a lot of work!!! |

guys, try to get in touch with Edward Benard, (formally of 21st century machines) he was the closest to getting an IRS in a car without major modification or fabrication. last heard the job went for $20k. https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=1522 I believe Payton has had one done...just guessing here... https://lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=2032 otherwise your best bet is Rodger at Ironworks in Bakersfeild. vince |
Paul and Kyle Newman put a C4 rear in their '55 and last I heard were working on a set up for 1st gen Camaro's. May want to try them also.
