And I know some will say the stripes never went over the roof on a Chevelle etc from factory. But in defense of that many other items on this car did not either. Carter, Did what ever I asked and listened very well. I was concerned that renderings always look better than the finsihed product so I wanted it as real looking as can be. Thanks, Tom |

About the Project Name
Thank guys!
And while I know we all get tired of the father/son stories this is one of those cars. The Project Name: I sometimes feel that car project names are cheesy or reserved for Professional Builds. However this build had a name that seemed to stick with me every time I looked at it. When I originally bought the car as a roller I threw it together quickly and drove it around the block. It drove worse than it looked. I blew it all apart at my Dad's shop. He said in a joking way that you will never drive that car again. You will loose interest in it and sell it in pieces. I said wait and see. He passed away not long after that. I thought I had a good twenty years or so to show him, but he will hopefully be watching from a better place when I do. His comments have been right, as many times I have thought of selling and building a first gen Camaro like the rest of the world. Every time those thought come up about selling I feel in a joking way I would be Unforgiven. So I must drive this pile again.... disclaimer I did not say finish but only drive again...Hah! |
gotta go with the others on stripe test 4. I like how it widens out. As for test 5, personally not so keen on it as it doesn't follow the body line at the front of the car that well to my eye, but could be tuned a bit and I would like it too.
As for the wheels, try the ones you have first. I like 'em. I am apparently one of the few not into the monster wheel thing (up to 18" looks good on the Muscle Cars IMO) and I think those will be a nice "period" touch. I like Forgelines too of course, as long as it is kept at a reasonable 18" maximum IMO. Like the car nonetheless  |
Tom,
Your project looks to be well under way. You don't need a big budget to build a killer car with the right pieces and sweat equity. Your rolling chassis looks top notch and you have a great guy doing your rendering. As for the rendering, all that matters is what you like since you're the one that has to live with it. Good luck and keep the pics coming. |
Project seems to be coming along nicely.
Great job!!! Keep us posted. |
