Excellent pics, that setup is absolutely stunning!
Is that the stock tank in the picture or a new one? I plan on using a good amount Second Skin Damplifier over the floor and a lot around the wheel wells so that if i dump the exhaust in front of the wheels it wont be obnoxiously loud. I would love to be able to use the stock tank and just repaint it. |
That is a aftermarket stainless tank with the corners nothced. You could easily notch the corners of your stock tank though

This the same setup that I finally got setup on my car. Rides a lot better then the leaf springs that I had on the car and you have some adjustment on ride height.. And I would recommend prodigy for buying products.. Frank has been helping me with my setup and now I'm ordering more parts That I feel need replaced.. |

I did. No problem on the change. the narrowed tank will also give you the clearance you need as basically the entire sides are trim instead of just dog earing the corners.

G-Bar
G-Bar =
The coilovers will mount to adapters that bolt to your leaf spring perches, not the special Moser brackets for a narrowed rear as shown in the picture. If you want to narrow your rear to get deeper rear wheel lips or to get rid of C clip axles using Ford Torino housing ends, you'll either need to fabricate those brackets, or buy a Moser narrowed rear with those brackets. This is not an issue if sticking with a stock rear width / housing ends. I've been trying to get Ridetech and/or Alston to supply such brackets, but no joy yet as they have each told me contact the other (ugh). So, in my case, I'll either be selling my rear to help fund a narrowed Moser rear (I'm wanting to get rid of the C clips and get more wheel dish), or I'll be fabricating those brackets and narrowing my rear w/ new ends. In short, great system for the buck, easy to install, as long as your sticking with a stock width / housing end rear. Be prepared for more hassle and cost if you're wanting a modified rear. And, since a little welding is required for the upper brackets on the axle tubes, get the installer to weld the mounts to the frame rails too, instead of bolting them in (good insurance for little extra $). I pretty much did the same thing after I did the numbers. G-Bar + Mini-tub really wasn't too much more than a Mini-tub with relocated springs and narrowed tank. Also it makes the mini-tub actually easier as you don't have to deal with cutting out and welding in a new upper shock crossmember.
Just recently finished as well so I'll throw my pic in too - http://home.socal.rr.com/ewillis1/im...-Bar015_sm.jpg I also got all my parts for the rear suspension and mini-tubbing from Frank, he was a great help and resource before, during and after the sale. |
