I love Top Gear. It's my favorite car show on TV.

I hope the US show is as good. We need some decent car shows. I've had a enough Pinks and Unique Whips.

Just FYI,Adam has a dislike for classic american cars.

Adam Corolla - I mean, really?! I saw him on Speed driving around in a Pontiac or something along with the host from Setup and what a waste of air time that was. Just cuz you have money and can buy cars doesn't really make you a car guy frankly, makes you someone with enough money to buy cars. Dude hosted Love Line for cryin' out loud.

Tanner Faust - oh goody, non-stop drifting and stupid comments along the lines of drifting. I watched that Supercar show... um... once. Enough for me. I agree Clarkson will drift 'em out for show but he can actually drive pretty fast when necessary, his dialogs are always good, etc and Tanner doesn't have that.

and then Eric Stromer - who the hell is that?? Googled and I read this:

"Meet Eric Stromer, recently announced member of our Top Gear USA host trio and lover of the Toyota Camry hybrid" along with him doing something with woodworking shows or so forth. At best it ties in with a fix-it character Adam Corolla used to do on KROQ in LA back in the 90s (Mr. Burcham or something like that) before Love Line.

If those 3 are going to run the US Top Gear show it will suck I'm afraid. Adam Corolla can be half decent but I royally dislike Tanner Faust (as a TV show host) he needs to stick to driving. Eric is decent with his home improvement stuff but
can't really see him in a Car show.

Not to jump the gun but they came by here for the dynoing of the Mosler we built i believe we will do an episode with it.1800 hp should be fun

BBC gets more money for selling Top Gear abroad than from their own government budget. Top Gear is one of BBC's great incomes. The market for TV-show formats is huge. Survivor was a Swedish format and that production company has made huge money on royalties over the years.

Just see what Clarkson, May and the Hamster drives privately. They have big time pay checks. And much of the popularity of the show is from those characters and their boyish style. Just saw yesterday when they went to the North Pole.

Anything else will just be a poor copycat.

I agree. And without Clarksons sarcasms for us cars would there be any fun :P
