Hey SSG, welcome. I was on Slayer for 6 months and a month down in Basrah last year. The winter season out there is actually half nice except at night. It snowed for the first time in over 100 years while I was out there. Anyway, there is a ton of information out there on pro-touring. I did my first Hot Rod Power Tour in 07 just before leaving for Iraq. The best 3 weeks of my life up to that point. I say 3 weeks, he power tour is only 1 week but its a long story. PM me your @iraq.centcom.mil and I'll tell you all about it. Make the best of it out there. It's only crappy if you let it be.

I was in Balad back in 06, Iraq sucks but keep your head up man. You will have all kinds of parts waiting for you when you get home I am sure. Keep us updated, feel free to pm me if you ever just want to shoot the ****.
