Great Idea

BRIAN 11-18-2008 05:40 PM

How about a 2x4 clip for the street rod crowd that would use either 1st gen F body or Chevelle based suspensions. The A body I thing is narrower in the later years and a better fit. The Camaro 59" can be a problem on the early Fords.

Anyway the idea would let the builder used either production or DSE style parts. No small ass Mustang 2 bushings for the real world. Better than using a junk yard clip as you never know what has happened to them. Nothing beats the ride of a GM suspension especially with the DSE or Global mods.

Just an idea to get an alternative to the Mustang 2 deal although I know the Wilwood spindle is supposed to be the deal.

Yo Roger,
Great meeting you in vegas. This might work out perfect. I have customer dropping off a 63 chevy p/u next week for a rear notch and bag. Could you make these c-notches by them selfs without the long legs. I want a nice clean radius up and over the rear end like in your picture. Give me a call at the shop tomorrow or pm me.

Well here are some crappy pics of the chassis. We developed all the control arms and delrin bushings. We are using Global west crossshafts at this point. It offers about a 3 inch roll center and with the rack mounted low it should give pretty good engine clearance. In the rear it has Johnny Joints for the 3 link to allow bind free movement with Big poly bushings. The driveshaft hoops are tall to allow the engine to be pretty high in the frame since the ride height is 6 inches from the ground.

I hope to have it on the ground by the time I'm back on Sunday from the Super Street Car Nationals.

We also have about 75" of the tri five chassis layed out now in Solidworks and will be starting on the Prototype very soon and begin filling sme of the pre orders we have.

Sorry about the crappy pics,

Well those of you interested give me the applications your interested in. I did the 55-59 truck frame because the customer paid me. I was going to do the 47-54 chevy cuz I have a call for 2 of them. I have 3-4 customers that want a tri-five frame. It seem like I should do the 62-72 chevy truck real soon.

I will be back behind the Key board again on Monday.

Rodger
