Nova ....

I did have a guy that was interested in the wheels (on the Nova) will see where it goes? I have wanted new ones for about 3 yrs. I need to sell these before I can get new ones. maybe that was the reason the swapmeet seemed off, they were swapmeeted out!? :D |
I have used both for stuff in the garage that I don't need anymore.
Pictures and detailed info about the stuff helps a lot! For large/heavy items that will cost a lot to ship, I tend to put those on Craigslist with local pick up only. If the item is large, but rare/hard to find then I will list it on ebay. Ebay has a bigger audience, but you need to pack it up, ship it and track it. Never ship an item on ebay without a tracking number! About 2 months ago I sold an old used 327 SBC on craigslist for $350. The old guy paid me ALL in quarters lol! I looked pretty funny carrying a heavy arse coffee can filled with quarts into the bank. |

That is pretty funny.
My father in law owned a ford dealership and he said one time he had a guy pay for a loaded out F250 in pennys. He said that there were a couple trucks with bags full of pennys. It ended up being a big deal and the newspaper came out and took pictures. Another story he told me was he had a guy come in and purchase a car, like a taurus I believe. He paid cash for it. My father in law went to the bank an hour later to make a deposit of the cash and the teller at the bank asked if this guy had been in to buy a car, he said yes. She said she had just counted out those bills to the guy. I guess he wanted to seem like a high roller paying in cash?!?! |

I just had a Craigslist scammer try and buy some parts I had on there....
It started with a very broken english email asking for my mailing address so he could send me a check for my item.....I had about 20 items listed...first red flag.... I emailed back my work address just to see where it would go.. he emailed back again in broken english that he wanted to buy my item and was sending me a check for it.... next big flag....which item and we never discused price.... I emailed back to take a frickin leap and dont contact me again..... 2 weeks later I get a check in the mail for $2000 with the BS story to deposit the check and then send "the shipping company" the difference and they would arrange to pick up my item...... yeah right.... I wasnt born yesterday.... I shredded the letter and the check..... another email a week later wondering about the status of the transaction.....again I replied to f-off..... a got another email this week, same thing "I'm sorry to find out you havent deposited the check, please I want to buy the item",,,blah blah blah..... I was half tempted to just open a separate bank account....deposit the check and then just wait to see how long it would take to bounce....figured it wasnt worth the effort to have the fun.... Anyway...back on subject.... I've had good success with both. Craiglist for easy local sales and ebay for a much larger market.... |
