Is it confirmed for Barret Jackson?

They said that in the magazine article that it was to be sold at BJ.

SAw the car at SEMA. Not a fan of the intercoolers up top, or the hood.

I also don't see it anywhere close to $1.3M. But, to each is own....

Geez, a lot of hatin going on...but yeah me too. I was thinking to myself, gimme a 1/4 of that price and lemme at it. But the PT post was right. Hot Rod totally made a dunce out of that car. I understand that the car needs to be driven at speed for the intercoolers to work because heat is produced as air is pressurized. I think any intercooler would become hot with no airflow over it, especially those. If anyone here knows about WRX's, one upgrade is the front mount intercooler. It is relocated from the top of the engine even though it has a monster scoop for direct airflow. And the reason for 2 superchargers is because rotrex doesn't make a big one. If you guys can remember the sleeper W2W Nova. I think it was a small chevy with twin Rotrex's also.

This car has all the good stuff and I think part of that big price tag is having to redo stuff that the owner changed his mind on like the stereo system. Remember boys and girls, a rendering will help keep us on track...unless it REALLY gets to you after a while in which case change it....

Also the factor of when the owner tells others about the car and what it's capable of. Hot Rod doused that potential man-part comparo. If someone only read that article, no one would think it was worth it. I too saw it at SEMA 06 and was floored and wondered why it wasn't snatched up into a high end booth. Honestly in it's presence, it commanded attention and oozed cool and said to all onlookers, you are not worthy, bow before me.:hail:

When the factory puts cars to the test, they do dumb things too like drive eveywhere in 1st gear. Has anyone seen that vid from a long time ago where that guy gets a job driving dumptrucks and then works his way up to test driving Ferrari's? There's a vid of him doing burnouts, donuts, etc to try to get the car to blow up...and he succeded!

This car is very cool, and has a lot of potential. I actually like the hood, the whole inter cooler thing is wrong, put them up front where they belong.
When I first saw the engine compartment photo in HR, I thought it was an under construction/mock-up pic. Just because the parts came out of the box that color, doesn't mean thats the way they go in. I'm not trying to trash your car, I just think a little reengineering and a "theme" in the engine compartment would put this car on top. Good luck at BJ, I'll be watching for it.

Someone over on PT.com commented that Pro-Touring finally has it's own Rick Dobbertin J-2000.

I think that's about right.

(Only, Rick never tried to peddle that thing for obscene money, he just went broke.)

I just read this article last night actually, and in my opinion, I know guys with extraordinary looking cars for alot...I mean ALOT less money. I know guys with incredible audio systems for ALOT less money, and I know guys with ALOT more power for ALOT less money.

I can't imagine it taking $1.3MM to put it all together. So if that includes the do-overs...why would the owner expect the the buyer to have to pay for his mistakes? You can't claim it would cost that to replicate it, if the majority of the bill is to correct things and make changes.
