As you probably already know there's at least three companies that are offering billet already.

Best of luck to ya!!

Ive worked with carbon and made many cycle parts in the past. I wasnt that great at it,lol. Lucky for me I have a really good friend that is great at it! He happens to own a composite company that does a lot of projects for the aerospace industry. A ton of the stuff is top secret so I cant post pics. After coming up with many ideas for my car he expressed intrest in wanting to do auto stuff. So we've been working on a few things. We just want to make sure theres a market for stuff before going any further. To get a basic idea heres a few pics of a shop they built. A lot of what you see is Carbon, light bar, mirror, wall art ect.

Heres a set of Drums he just got done with. This kind of CF is spun in their shop out of twill. They deal with it a lot for the type of projects they do.

I wouldn't give up your day job. That being said, I think there are absolutely some things that could be made that would sell well. I have some ideas to so I won't be to specific.

HAHAHA Hey thanks!

it seems like the industry is going towards function over form... the days of people bolting billet stuff on just for the look are over, with few exeptions of course... but the stuff being produced by companies like fensler, marques and such are items that from the beginning werent super, and after 40 years of wear are horrible, like hood hinges, the cheap chassisbraces GM put in those cars etc.. all could with an upgrade that both look and function better...

if you were to make carbon frontfenders that actually fit, window mechanisms that work flawlessly and fast.. and allow the window to be raised tightly an 100 mph... scissor style trunk hinges that allow the trunk to open fully... 90 deg brakeboosters that fit under the dash... 100% hidden, latemodel powered wipers.... cowlinduction that actually worked, carbon brakeducts (with fans??).. and hundreds of other items that both add function and form, you will have somthing people will want to spend money on...

just pretty stuff, wont cut it any longer....

I have always thought a pillar to mount gauges for first gens would be cool.

Custom parts can be hard to sell sometimes.Been me i would do it part time get one of the forum vendor things on here and do some group purchase's.Or even put things up on ebay.If you branch out to any older car would be best the 1gen f body a bodies and b bodies is huge. There is no carbon fiber parts for early mustangs at all.The ford market is slowly coming around.

Right now thats the plan. The nice part is this is just a side gig. All there is to buy at this point is stock parts. I can tell ya the ideas are flowing right now. The carbon parts they make now are pretty insane. We will touch on a bunch of different cars. We're just starting with Camaro stuff because I own one.
We talked today about CF drive lines, subframes, fenders ect. Right now Im like a kid at Christmas, Im super excited!

I'd like a CF rear tail light trim for a 68!
