It's good to see another Bird in the making. Looks good so far. Are you keeping it original or will you do mods?

Looks great! That's a ton of work to do in you own garage. You're going about it the right way, making sure all your gaps are good before final welding - I'm there too!

Thanks!
Probably some mods; better rear-end, the original 4 speed is long gone so I will have decide what tranny (it came with a TH400), I'll beef up the suspension, convert to disk brakes, but I will keep the 400 motor, probably stroke it and get some aluminum heads on it.

Just taking my time, hopefully I don't screw it up too much :willy:

I'm just waiting for the other quarter and roof to show up at Summit. I've got those areas prepped and ready to go as soon as they get in. Pics will follow soon after.

Quick question for you body guys: What do you use to fill in the area where the drip rails and roof meet? There was some sort of sealer/filler in there. I've been told mar-glass and filler. What about metal based filler?
Thanks for the input :lateral:  :woot:

Wow. I thought that I was brave when I tried my first panel replacement (quarter skins) but your taking the "baptism by fire" thing to a whole new level. Everything looks great. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, I'm determined to get this thing together. I'm in Reno and Hot August nights was this week, so I got to see a bunch of stuff to get me motivated. I got the rest of the sheetmetal for the body and started mocking it up. I'm having issues with the Goodmark driver's side quarter. It seems to be too high along the door side. I had to trim from the bottom to get it closer. Needs more massaging, though. I'll post up some pics soon.

Thanks, hopefully I can get some more work done on it soon. I had to take a break from it to work on my little brother's car.
