You figured out how to post the pictures and you have gotten positive reaction. Now give us the details. Tell us about the build. We want to hear to more.

Someone was showing me a Vette identical to this one that was For sale. I don't think it was on ebay. I will have to find out where it was. It was same color, wheels and side exhaust.. crazy, but it was here in the states somewhere just last week.

Sounds pit odd, but let me know if you´ll find it again...

I bought the car from the west side of Chigaco in 2002 (march). I was an exchangestudent at the time in States and I had always dreamed of a American muscle. Apparently this Corvette was first right type of car for my application and I bought -> I made a good deal, because the former ovner had just purhaced a C5 vette and he had a big loan for it to be paid.

Now I have been working on this project for 7 years. I have done: full body-off restorattion -> frame and suspension components got a hot zinc couting, which is a great way to protect and stiffen the frame, all bearings are new, also all bushings are polyurethan, I made new brakelines from alu-copper-tubing, restoret brakes and handbrake, changed the TH-350 to tko-600 and build a hydraulic cluts for this set up. The engine is built in to a new block with new parts-> dart alu heads, mighty demon carb, voodoo stick, compression ration is 11.2:1 and so on... rev limit is now 6500 rpm and this set up is producing decent power to wheels.

Cooling problems I solved with two spal fans. I fabricated a wind tunnel from fiberclass for those fans to optimize the cooling power. The are really working well. Body is basically stock, but I needes some room for the new engine set up, so I fabricated L-88 scoop to the hood. The colour is from C5īs colour map and it is magnetic red.

Interior is full Italian leather, with 4 point harness and autometer meters (carbon fiber). I covered everything with leather exept the floors. I used black and light tan colours. I also made the whole wireing from the scrats and used some 800 yards of wire.

On suspension side I have QA1 semi-coilovers infront and fiberglass leafspring in back with koni classics. I have also installet some special made camber bars to back. The steering is rac and pinion conversion and it rocks! The newest upgrade is those wheel from Intro (Pentia 19X8.5 and 20X9 with Kumho KU31 245/35/19 and 255/35/20)

I have only 1600 miles on the odometer after the build up... and its still in some progress, but I love the car.

I think thats all in a nut shell...

very nice.... sounds like alot of good impriovements, just one thing... hot zink plating doesnt stiffen the chassis, its a very very wise choice, especialy here in scandinavia.... but the .05mm zink does not in any significant way add rigidity to the frame...

It really changed that frame and itīs actually about 1 mm for both sides. Hot sinc weakens the metal in fact, but it gives the tension for the chassis. So after + and - things I think it is a good improvement to do and it is qoite cheap way to protect the chassis.

0.05 mm you would get with the electrick plating...

Or this is what I have read and learned about Zinc plating.

Good to see you posting here Harri! Harri is a great example of talent and skill. He's done most of the work on his car by himself. Hats off!

Rubberbumper vettes are dirt cheap, very fun cars, easy to work on, parts readily available and they can be made to handle ok too...

Here's my rubber duck at Nurburgring...
