I am not by any means defending this, however, what did they guy think he was buying for $15k? That should have been a big red flag. Coupes in this good of shape are about $20-30k and convertibles are even harder to find and thus more expensive. One in this 'good' of shape would have been 30-40k. They didn't list the car as an original 442, but that would have pushed this close to 100k. The guy got greedy, didn't perform due diligence and got smoked. An expensive lesson for sure. As for the car sellers, well, karma is a bitch.

Can you imagine the mess under that white paint?

I have some questions.. Is the car #'s matching? Other than the floors is the body solid? What is this car worth if it was in the exact condition that this a@#$(%e stated? I can't believe this s@*t goes on today. People have alot of balls to and pull crap like this off. WOW!!! I hope this works out for you..

Not matching anything. Just a done up cutlass convertible. Based on my experience it would be a 15-18K car realisticly.

Reality looks like a $ 3500.00 parts car

I agree I would be more inclined to go see an older/classic car in person before buying sight unseen, but I can say I have bought 2 later model cars (both 2001s) out of state and sight-unseen. But I had very detailed pictures, descriptions, etc and both cars turned out to be better than I had expected when I picked them up. Just sayin....

There are classic cars bringing 6 figures that were found in fields with trees growing through them.
and that justifies everything?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that. I think I would have to find this guy and hang him up by his *****, I can't say that on this website, but you get what I mean. It's a shame to see crooked people out there stealing peoples hard earned money, especially in this day and age.

This is exactly what these used car dealers that specialize in muscle cars do everyday of the week.

The buy some rotted out POS and throw on $500 paint, $800 of interior, $1200 in wheels, tires and brakes.. then bingo; $25K HOT ROD with 52,000 original miles that some grandma owned.

Not all used car lots are like this but the majority are exactly as portrayed in the movies.

Scum bags.

... I've seen some around here do that, but periodically (I assume when the lawsuits start) close and then reopen under a different name.

buyer beware.

ok
1 NEVER EVER PERIOD buy a classic car sight unseen I do not care who is selling it

2 Nothing he can do the auction CLEARLY stated it was as is where is and they even went so far as to say that all older cars like this have issues that need fixing.

simple fact he screwed himself by making a new buyer mistake he trusted someone on ebay.

caveat emptor

Let the buyer beware

He doesnt have a legal leg to stand on.. the seller never once made any promise anywhere that i saw saying that the frame was in good condition or was not in need of repair he simply showed and talked up the good parts of the car and hid the bad ..

gratned i think hes a scum bag but it realy isnt anything that doesnt happen every day on ebay.
